Kukuruzna Zlevanka (Cornmeal dish)<br />

Ingredients: 3 eggs, 150 g sugar, 500 ml milk, 200 mg fresh<br />

cottage cheese, 6 tbsp cornmeal, 300 ml cream, pinch <strong>of</strong> salt<br />

Mix all ingredients, except cream, and pour into a greased baking pan.<br />

Cover with cream, sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 40 minutes at 200ºC.<br />

3. Vrbovečka Pera (Vrbovec dish)<br />

Dough: 20 g yeast, 2 tbsp melted<br />

butter, 500 g flour, 1 tsp salt<br />

Filling: fresh cottage cheese, 2<br />

eggs, 200 ml cream, pinch <strong>of</strong> salt<br />

Knead the dough and leave it in a warm<br />

oven to rise. Mix eggs, cream, and salt<br />

with the cheese. Roll out the dough so<br />

that you cover the bottom and sides <strong>of</strong><br />

a greased pan, add the filling, and roll the<br />

edges over it. Bake at 200º C.<br />

Jelačić slice<br />

Ingredients: 1.5 kg chocolate, 1.5 L<br />

whipped cream, 20 egg yolks, 3 eggs,<br />

300 g sugar, 300 g almonds, 200 g<br />

walnuts, 150 g flour, grated lemon peel,<br />

little vanilla sugar<br />

Mix the egg yolks, 3 eggs, and sugar into a<br />

creamy mixture and add the almonds, walnuts,<br />

flour, grated lemon peel and vanilla sugar into the<br />

mixture. Bake in a warm heat and let cool.<br />

Cook the chocolate and whipped cream over maximum<br />

heat, constantly mixing. When it boils, remove from<br />

heat and allow to cool. When cooled, mix until it<br />

rises and becomes crumbly.<br />

For the glaze, grate chocolate and dilute with a<br />

small amount <strong>of</strong> oil, warming slowly over low<br />

heat while, stirring mixing.<br />

Cover the biscuit with cream and the pour the<br />

warm glaze over the cream. Cut the well cooled<br />

cake into thin slices.<br />
