Croatian Climbing<br />
Society from Zagreb<br />
organized their first<br />
excursion from Rude to<br />
Oštrc and Plešivica back in 1875.<br />
As early as 1881, you could enjoy<br />
the view <strong>of</strong> the picturesque, green<br />
hillsides <strong>of</strong> the County mountains<br />
from the wooden viewing pyramids<br />
<strong>of</strong> Plešivica, visited that same<br />
year by many hikers and tourists.<br />
Today there are numerous wellmarked<br />
and maintained hiking<br />
trails in the area. Head out over<br />
attractive cliffs and grassy peaks,<br />
to one <strong>of</strong> the best equipped<br />
furnished mountain lodges or huts,<br />
picturesque villages and chapels,<br />
pass by medieval structures, fast<br />
mountain brooks, ancient water<br />
mills and waterfalls.<br />
