Class DescriptionsWe have classes for everyone, each withtheir own level of difficulty.<strong>SENIOR</strong>S CIRCUITHeld in a circuit format this class incorporates gentle upperand lower body weights with abdominal, core strength,balance and flexibility exercises. It is the perfect way togently introduce your body into a regular exercise routineand is suitable for all levels of fitness and mobility.POSTURAL <strong>FITNESS</strong>Your body learns what you teach it! This low impact class usesbands and hand weights to teach postural awareness andimprove your functional core strength while balancing andaligning the spine. The use of bouncing balls helps improveco-ordination and makes for an enjoyable and energizing class.AQUA <strong>FITNESS</strong>Enjoy the benefits of land exercise without the impact. Thatwater reduces the impact by supporting up to 85% of yourbody weight and provides 15 times the resistance of air. Themakes Aqua Fitness suitable for beginners or those wanting afull body workout without the stress on the joints. It is suitableand available to people of all ages, although water confidenceis required.STRETCH ‘N BALANCEIncrease your body awareness by improving your balance andposture. This class aims to develop flexibility and strengththrough flowing movements, integrated breathing andrelaxation. This class is just perfect to refresh and renew thebody and to welcome in the weekend.OurInstructorsJOHN ‘SPARROW’ DOWSEAfter receiving the enrolmentinto his Personal Training CertificationCourse for his 70th birthday, from hischildren, Sparrow has become the newestaddition to <strong>Sydney</strong> Uni <strong>Sport</strong> & Fitness’ impressiveGroup Fitness instructor line up.A former wallaby himself, Sparrow has remained active throughhis senior years and is regularly seen down at Bondi Icebergsswimming laps and also enjoying a round of golf around NSWGolf Club.Having worked with <strong>Sydney</strong> Uni ‘Blue&Gold’, as well as Alumniand Corporate Relations, Sparrow is practically a permanentfixture of <strong>Sydney</strong> Uni <strong>Sport</strong> & Fitness. Sparrow’s ability torelate to his fellow seniors and his passion towards increasingtheir quality of life has seen our Senior’s Program grow fromstrength to strength.CRIS PENN FL, RN, B.APP.SC. IN HECris’ background involves both nursing and teaching andshe has worked at <strong>Sydney</strong> <strong>University</strong> for the past 21 years.Cris competes in domestic and international athletics.In 2003, Cris was awarded an Australian <strong>Sport</strong>s Award(Masters Track Athletics Team Achievement). Recently,Cris conquered the Balmoral Burn Hill challenge in recordbreaking time, won Bronze in the 800m at the WorldMasters Athletic Championships, won Gold in the 400m and800m at Russian National Masters Championships and in<strong>Sydney</strong> at the World Masters games in 2009, Cris won Goldin the 400m, 800m and 1500m.Cris is very passionate about senior’s fitness and has years ofexperience in group fitness instruction for various age groupsand abilities.Costs‘We have classesfor everyone, eachwith their ownlevel of difficulty.’ADULT GROUP COACHINGMembership - $55 p.a.Casual Class - $7.5010 Visit Pass - $60Classes are also included in any Silver Group Fitness orGold pass.
