<strong>Job</strong> <strong>description</strong>: <strong>Residence</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> (<strong>part</strong>-<strong>time</strong>)<strong>The</strong> <strong>BSR</strong> <strong>is</strong> <strong>first</strong> <strong>and</strong> foremost a residential community of art<strong>is</strong>ts <strong>and</strong> scholars. <strong>The</strong><strong>Residence</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> <strong>is</strong> the <strong>first</strong> person many residents <strong>and</strong> v<strong>is</strong>itors encounter <strong>and</strong>therefore th<strong>is</strong> role <strong>is</strong> crucial in helping the community to operate successfully. <strong>The</strong><strong>Residence</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> will work with other staff members to ensure all who come throughthe <strong>BSR</strong> can achieve the maximum advantage from their <strong>time</strong> in Rome.Duties <strong>and</strong> Responsibilities:Front of house responsibilities including but not limited to:Chief contact point for residents <strong>and</strong> v<strong>is</strong>itors;Responding to booking enquiries: email, written, telephone;Receiving <strong>and</strong> reg<strong>is</strong>tering residents as they arrive <strong>and</strong> preparing for out of hoursarrivals;Managing reservations to maximize occupancy;Compilation <strong>and</strong> processing of residents bills, cash & credit card h<strong>and</strong>ling;Preparation of award-holders arrival packs;Operating telephone switchboard to answer, screen <strong>and</strong> forward calls, providinginformation <strong>and</strong> taking messages;Preparing courier deliveries;Managing information for residents including flyers <strong>and</strong> notices;Resolving residence-related <strong>is</strong>sues <strong>and</strong> requests– with reference to appropriatestaff where necessary but also using own judgement;Financial <strong>and</strong> operational planning <strong>and</strong> reporting using residence managementsoftware <strong>and</strong> Office;Schedule space <strong>and</strong> equipment for special programmes, ensuring thatappropriate <strong>BSR</strong> operations are aware of <strong>part</strong>icular needs;H<strong>and</strong>ling of guest taxi requests;Superv<strong>is</strong>ing staff providing direct residence-related services


Skills <strong>and</strong> SpecificationsEssentialMother-tongue or very near Engl<strong>is</strong>hExcellent written Engl<strong>is</strong>hAdvanced spoken <strong>and</strong> written ItalianComfortable with MS Office esp.
