the ramadan of shaikh muĤ ammud zakariyyĀneeds. The program in al-Masjid al-Nabawiyy was the same as inSahāranpūr. Besides the gathering of dhikr that is after Ẓuhr, Ĥađratand the people in i‘tikāf spent all their time in their prescribeddaily devotions.After Ramadan, Ĥađrat stayed for a few days in Madina thendeparted for Pakistan. After touring various cities in Pakistan, hereturned to Sahāranpūr.Ramadan of 1393/1973In 1393/1973, Ĥađrat migrated to Saudia Arabia. As his intentionswere pure and noble, Allah u opened the doors for him to obtaina visa [iqāma] and citizenship shortly thereafter [details of whichcan be read in Āp Bītī]. It was Ĥađrat’s rule that he sought guidancefrom Allah u through istikhāra 32 for every matter; he performedistikhāra about where to spend Ramadan many months prior toRamadan and then spent his Ramadan accordingly.This year he was told to spend Ramadan in the Blessed Precincts.He announced that he would not keep any guests except for threeof his own full-time helpers; everyone else was asked to arrange fortheir own food and accommodations.The daily program and routine of Ĥađrat was the same as in1389/1969.Ramadan of 1398/1978This year Ĥađrat was extremely sick and weak. His visits tothe Blessed Precinct decreased significantly and sometimes hiscondition became so severe that many times his friends lost hopein him. The Ramadan of 1398/1978 came in these circumstances.This year, Ĥađrat stayed the whole month in Madina, residingin the ground floor of Madrasa al-‘Ulūm al-Shar‘ia [as he alwaysdid whenever he stayed in Madina]. Ĥađrat’s devotees came fromdifferent places; all devotees and attendees arranged for their own32 A Sunna śalāt of two rak‘a after which one supplicates and asks Allah uto guide him in a matter concerning him.44
