To produce reports as requested by the <strong>Adult</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> Committee tocontribute towards any serious case review.8.3 The role of independent advocacyTo submit a cause for concern to the social work contact centre where anadult at risk has been identified.To listen to the adult at risk’s wishes and feelings about the harm or risk ofharm and what should happen next.When requested to do so, support the adult to risk to speak up during aninvestigation.To represent the adult at risk’s views at any adult protection case conferenceif they are not able or willing to do this for themselves.To support the adult at risk’s rights and responsibilities throughout theprocess.To produce reports as requested by the social work contracts section.8.4 The role of social work service contractsTo report any potential or suspected harm to the social work contact centrewhich may arise from monitoring of contracts or complaint investigations.To monitor whether provider agencies are working in accordance with the <strong>Fife</strong><strong>Multi</strong>-<strong>Agency</strong> <strong>Adult</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> <strong>Guidance</strong> through contract monitoring.To investigate any breach of contract.To ensure adequate monitoring based on any concerns raised through anadult protection investigation, which may include the development of a robustaction plan to improve the service.When appropriate, link with the Care Inspectorate (or other relevant regulator)to ensure a joint approach to monitoring and investigation.To follow up any contractual issues and actions agreed at the <strong>Adult</strong> <strong>Protection</strong>Committee or sub committees.To support the adult protection process where there are recommendations ofsuspension or re-instatement of service provider contracts.To pass on any information to other local authority contract departmentswhere appropriate when an adult placed in <strong>Fife</strong> is subject to an adultprotection cause for concern.To monitor the recruitment and selection process followed by provideragencies.64
