In May 1999 a sixth A330 was added to the fleet tofacilitate the new, strategically important gateway of Los Angeles which opened in May 1999.Our position has been strengthened by new code-sharing arrangements with AmericanAirlines, effective since July 2000, and membership of the oneworld alliance.As a result of the opportunities presented through our agreement with American Airlines, weexpect to increase frequencies on Aer Lingus’ key routes into the US. The opening of the newroute into Baltimore/Washington adds capacity in a key US region.Overall projected Aer Lingus capacity for transatlantic routes in 2000 is 1.4 million seats, anincrease of 16% on 1999.10
