Day 2: Developing IdeasCreativity Workshop – Phase 2: UtopiaAnalysis of trends around “Energy & Environment inEurope in 2020“:- Security of Energy Supply- Investment in Renewable Energies- Recycling and waste management- Saving WaterCreativity Workshop – Phase 1: CritiqueWhat do we not like in Europe concerning Energy &Environment?What would we like to change?- Students develop their first innovative ideas and concepts forthe Europe of tomorrow with regards to the specific topic.Communicating results successfully- Students learn about and apply presentation, facilitation andcommunication methods and technologies.5Day 3: Practical InsightsFeedback from the ExpertStudents receive feedback from experts and practitioners on theirfirst ideas as well as tips and recommendations. From a practicalpoint of view, the experts share their knowledge about the topic andanswer the students‘ questions. The topic is put into the Europeancontext.Students learn about the different aspects of the topic:- Aspect 1: General environmental issues (e.g. LokaleAgenda 21)- Aspect 2: "EU Energy Package“: Energy and environmentalpolicy of the EU- Aspect 3: Communal energy management in municipalbuildings- Aspect 4: Handy tips for youth to save energy63


Day 4: Reality-CheckThe dynamics of different interests – Real-life simulation- Three political parties develop their manifestos and competefor citizens‘ votes- Campaign advisors support the parties in the developmentof their messages- A critical NGO monitors the developments and tries to bringin its objectives- The press eagerly reports on what is going on» Within the framework of a role play, students experience thepower play in today‘s political life: different interests meet andcompete and only the most convincing ones among them will gettheir message through.The resulting ideas are presented at „Europe 2020“, theEuropean Election campaign event.- Students present their ideas, concepts and the criticalassessment thereof and have to face the feedback andcomments of a demanding au<strong>die</strong>nce.7Day 5: Putting the results to voteLive Connection:the Slovene studentsA Parliamentary Debate on the topic of the future- Students present and debate their manifestos before anau<strong>die</strong>nce consisting of representatives and staff of thehosting school, the partnering organisation, invited guestsand the press.The au<strong>die</strong>nce gives feedback ... and votes- Discussion of the final results- Voting for the most convincing party:the economical partyHow was it?- Students give their feedback on the project week84
