one of the world's richest rodeos, one of Canada's largest festivals and a significant touristattraction for the city.Now in its 31st year, the 2013 Top 100 Events in North America is published as a guide for travelprofessionals and the general public to use when planning group tours and vacations.Each spring, the Top 100 selection committee, which is comprised of group travel professionals,selects the winners from among hundreds of nominated fairs, festivals, parades, exhibits, theatersand shows based on their broad appeal, accessibility to large groups arriving by motorcoach andother criteria.Although ABA does not rank the events, it does give special recognition to “Annual Events.”Annual Events receive separate recognition because they have been consistently selected as aTop 100 Event in North America, continually attract group and motorcoach business and offerinternational appeal.There is also a new feature in this year’s Top 100 Events in North America. ABA’s “Events toWatch” feature was created by a panel of ABA member bus and tour operators to highlightevents and festivals that were not selected as a “Top 100 Event” but are great examples of newmotorcoach-friendly events that show potential to become future “Top 100 Events.”“On behalf of the entire American Bus Association, I would like to congratulate all of thoseinvolved in the events selected for the 2013 Top 100 Events in North America,” said ABAPresident and CEO Peter Pantuso. “The events of Gettysburg in 1863 wrote a new chapter inAmerican history, and ABA is proud it was selected as the number one event in the UnitedStates.
