Trends in fertility desiresAgain as in Zimbabwe, <strong>the</strong> stated ideal number <strong>of</strong> children slows its decline with <strong>the</strong> slowing <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> decline in <strong>the</strong> TFR (Figure 10). This measure appears to drop a great deal between1988/1989 and 1995, after which <strong>the</strong> decline is less marked; <strong>the</strong> ideal number <strong>of</strong> children evenappears to have grown between 2000/2001 and 2006.
