ATMTC Academydoes not accept registrations by walk-in, e-mail, phone, or mail. Students are enrolled upon receipt of registration form and paymentin full. You will receive registration confirmation via e-mail. No further notification will be given unless a class is filled or cancelled.DANCE CLASS PLACEMENTDance placements are required for all new and non-recent students. Dance students will be required to attend placements in the latesummer and/or in the winter and will be assigned placement by ATMTC staff. ATMTC’s placements are based on professional opinions,the student’s capabilities, and demonstrated growth and technical achievement. Should a conflict occur before a scheduled class begins, students may transfer into another section of the same level class atthe discretion of ATMTC. If the student drops a class at any time, pro-rated credits for other classes will not be issued. Families on thepayment plan will still be responsible for the remaining balance on their account. Families withdrawing from Academy offerings whoreceive financial aid, may be billed the full tuition amount.IllnessRefunds will not be issued by ATMTC for student absenteeism or discontinued participation except in extraordinary cases of a fullwithdrawal of a child from a semester or class due to prolonged physical injury or illness. These exemptions are at the sole discretionof ATMTC staff. These extraordinary case requests for a refund must be made in writing to ATMTC and be accompanied by a physician’snote. After obtaining a degree in dance atthe University of Maryland and dancing professionally, teaching and choreographing have become her passion. Choreographycredits include numerous musicals at area theaters, including Burn Brae, West End, Colony 7, Petrucci’s, Harlequin,Wagon Wheel Playhouse, University of Maryland, Catholic University, Club Ambassador, Washington Savoyards, and ATMTCAcademy Student Productions. As teacher and/or choreographer, Diane has worked with Tony Award winner Faith Prince,Goldie Hawn, and many current Broadway performers and is an adjunct dance faculty member at American University.Shawn Short is professor of ballet at the Catholic University of America. Mr. Short has performed with K2 Dance, AdrianBolton Dance, El Tearto de Danza Contemporeanea El Salvador, Bolton/Smith and has been a guest artist with Dance Alloy.Mr. Short is a Founding Teacher of the Washington Ballet’s outreach campus at THEARC campus in Southeast Washington,DC. He has taught in elementary, secondary education through arts integrating programs and afternoon programs. Mr.Short was the Program Director and Resident Choreographer for the Kelsey Collie Children’s Theatre for six years. He is theArtistic Director of Dissonance Dance Theatre Shawn is fiscally sponsored artist with New York Foundation for the Arts andhas been funded in part by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.Stacy Steyaert specializes in teaching first-exposure performing arts experiences for all ages, with a particular focuson ages 0-10. Since her move to DC, she has worked as the Business Director and Education Associate for City of FairfaxTheatre Company, as well as a freelance teaching artist for companies such as Adventure Theatre MTC, Fairfax Academyfor the Visual and Performing Arts, and Gymboree Play & Music. Before moving to DC, Stacy worked as a Drama Instructorin Chicago, IL for Dream Big, The Children’s Theatre Company of Winnetka, American Theater Company, and Child’s PlayTouring Theatre. Stacy graduated summa cum laude with her BFA in Theatre Management and a double minor in DigitalCinema and Business Management.Tuluv Maria Price has pursued advanced studies at the California Institute of the Arts, Howard University and theUniversity of the Arts (Philadelphia) receiving her B.F.A. in modern dance from the University of the Arts, and Masters inEducation Administration from The International Graduate University. The jazz technique that Tuluv brings to ATMTC wasdeveloped and refined under the tutelage of the legendary George Faison. Tuluv has taught various styles of dance at anumber of area studios and arts schools, including Joy of Motion (Atlas), Northeast Performing Arts, Expressions DanceTheater, Joyce Laverne Studios, and Suitland and Thomas Pullen Performing Arts Schools. She currently serves on theadjunct dance faculty at the University of the District of Columbia.Cynthia L. Webb-Manly is an actor, director, educator, professional costumer and make-up artist. She recently completeda graduate program at Central Washington University receiving a Master of Arts in theatre production. Cynthia hasover ten years experience teaching K-12 students and over ten years working with adult actors. A former board member forthe Actors’ Center (former Vice-President) and DC Baltimore SAG Council (Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer and Councilmember at large). Cynthia is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.Carol Reitz has trained under the guidance of a number of distinguished DC and New York instructors, choreographers,and studios, including Vernon Brock, Jack Stanley, Gus Giordano, Jimmy Mulro, Phil Black, Jane and Roy Dodge, Bob Audy,Paul Draper, Luigi, Twyla Tharp, Fokine, Washington School of Ballet and Miriam’s. She has taught classes for children increative movement, ballet, tap and jazz, as well as ballroom dance classes for adults. Carol has developed her own danceprogram for developmentally disabled individuals through which she has been able to share her passion for dancethrough various community programs. Her philosophy of teaching emphasizes the importance of fun while children learnthe basics of dance, while focusing on the integral elements of proper body placement and dance technique as childrenprogress.Lisa Carrier Baker is a vocal technician/performer in the “crossover” style of musical theatre and opera with manynational credits to her name. Lisa has a BM in Musical Theatre, MME with an emphasis in vocal performance education,and completed three seasons of post-graduate work as an Artist in Residence with with The Fletcher Opera Institute atNorth Carolina School of the Arts (Formerly National Opera Company). Lisa is an adjunct professor of voice at AmericanUniversity, and at Montgomery College, where she has directed over a dozen Summer Dinner Theatre and main stageproductions. Upcoming Master ClassMusical Theater Song Preparation IntensiveStudents (Grades 9-12) are invited to join ATMTC’s Artistic Director,Michael J. Bobbitt for a dynamic four-session intensive study of professional-leveltechniques for interpreting musical theater songs. This master class is designedto arm the next generation of musical theater artists with appropriate repertoireand proper execution in performances, rehearsals and auditions. Each student willreceive a custom-chosen song for study, individual song coaching, and the benefitof group observation, learning and practice. Students will learn techniques to helpthem execute a musical theater piece with a professional piano accompanist andreceive individual instruction from Mr. Bobbitt. The class will end with a final sharingand feedback from industry professionals and local casting directors.Note: Students must have had or be currently enrolled in private or semi-private voice ora group voice class.
