ATMTC Academydoes not accept registr<strong>at</strong>ions by walk-in, e-mail, phone, or mail. Students are enrolled upon receipt of registr<strong>at</strong>ion form and paymentin full. You will receive registr<strong>at</strong>ion confirm<strong>at</strong>ion via e-mail. No further notific<strong>at</strong>ion will be given unless a class is filled or cancelled.DANCE CLASS PLACEMENTDance placements are required for all new and non-recent students. Dance students will be required to <strong>at</strong>tend placements in the l<strong>at</strong>esummer and/or in the winter and will be assigned placement by ATMTC staff. ATMTC’s placements are based on professional opinions,the student’s capabilities, and demonstr<strong>at</strong>ed growth and technical achievement. Other than official ATMTCAcademy branded items, clothing with vibrant or oversized logos and c<strong>at</strong>chphrases or slogans are not permitted onany dance <strong>at</strong>tire. No bare midriffs, gym shorts, jewelry, h<strong>at</strong>s or baggy clothing are permitted. Students are required toprovide their own dance shoes and dance <strong>at</strong>tire.PaymentTuition and administr<strong>at</strong>ive/registr<strong>at</strong>ion fees are due <strong>at</strong> the time of registr<strong>at</strong>ion for all classes. ATMTC offers an optional monthly billingpayment plan when total tuition fees exceed $600.00 in one single online order. An additional administr<strong>at</strong>ive fee may apply. Your canceled check, charge card st<strong>at</strong>ement, or e-mail confirm<strong>at</strong>ion will serve as your proofof payment. If a child is left in our carefor more than ten minutes <strong>at</strong> the end of the day, a l<strong>at</strong>e fee will be charged for every ten minutes until the child is collected. A parent orguardian should come inside to meet their child. If other arrangements are needed, please send a note authorizing ATMTC to releaseyour child. Students may not loiter unnecessarily.inclement we<strong>at</strong>herIn the event of inclement we<strong>at</strong>her, closing announcements/upd<strong>at</strong>es will be made available to students via our website homepage, ourFacebook page, on our main voicemail messages and will be distributed via e-mail upd<strong>at</strong>e by the Registrar.In Glen Echo: Academy offerings will take place as scheduled unless Glen Echo Park is closed due to inclement we<strong>at</strong>her, even if MontgomeryCounty Schools are closed. Credits may be issued to qualifying students if the Registrar is notified in writing nol<strong>at</strong>er than fourteen (14) business days before the beginning of the scheduled class. Any credits issued must be used before the endof ATMTC’s calendar year, or before August 30th. Unused balances may also be converted to a tax-deductible charitable don<strong>at</strong>ion byrequest. Should a conflict occur before a scheduled class begins, students may transfer into another section of the same level class <strong>at</strong>the discretion of ATMTC. If the student drops a class <strong>at</strong> any time, pro-r<strong>at</strong>ed credits for other classes will not be issued. Families on thepayment plan will still be responsible for the remaining balance on their account. Families withdrawing from Academy offerings whoreceive financial aid, may be billed the full tuition amount.IllnessRefunds will not be issued by ATMTC for student absenteeism or discontinued particip<strong>at</strong>ion except in extraordinary cases of a fullwithdrawal of a child from a semester or class due to prolonged physical injury or illness. Mr. Short has performed with K2 Dance, AdrianBolton Dance, El Tearto de Danza Contemporeanea El Salvador, Bolton/Smith and has been a guest artist with Dance Alloy.Mr. Short is a Founding Teacher of the Washington Ballet’s outreach campus <strong>at</strong> THEARC campus in Southeast Washington,DC. Tuluv has taught various styles of dance <strong>at</strong> anumber of area studios and arts schools, including Joy of Motion (Atlas), Northeast Performing Arts, Expressions DanceThe<strong>at</strong>er, Joyce Laverne Studios, and Suitland and Thomas Pullen Performing Arts Schools. She currently serves on theadjunct dance faculty <strong>at</strong> the University of the District of Columbia.Cynthia L. Webb-Manly is an actor, director, educ<strong>at</strong>or, professional costumer and make-up artist. She recently completeda gradu<strong>at</strong>e program <strong>at</strong> Central Washington University receiving a Master of Arts in the<strong>at</strong>re production. Cynthia hasover ten years experience teaching K-12 students and over ten years working with adult actors. A former board member forthe Actors’ Center (former Vice-President) and DC Baltimore SAG Council (Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer and Councilmember <strong>at</strong> large). Cynthia is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.Carol Reitz has trained under the guidance of a number of distinguished DC and New York instructors, choreographers,and studios, including Vernon Brock, Jack Stanley, Gus Giordano, Jimmy Mulro, Phil Black, Jane and Roy Dodge, Bob Audy,Paul Draper, Luigi, Twyla Tharp, Fokine, Washington School of Ballet and Miriam’s. She has taught classes for children incre<strong>at</strong>ive movement, ballet, tap and jazz, as well as ballroom dance classes for adults. Carol has developed her own danceprogram for developmentally disabled individuals through which she has been able to share her passion for dancethrough various community programs. Her philosophy of teaching emphasizes the importance of fun while children learnthe basics of dance, while focusing on the integral elements of proper body placement and dance technique as childrenprogress.Lisa Carrier Baker is a vocal technician/performer in the “crossover” style of musical the<strong>at</strong>re and opera with manyn<strong>at</strong>ional credits to her name. Lisa has a BM in Musical The<strong>at</strong>re, MME with an emphasis in vocal performance educ<strong>at</strong>ion,and completed three seasons of post-gradu<strong>at</strong>e work as an Artist in Residence with with The Fletcher Opera Institute <strong>at</strong>North Carolina School of the Arts (Formerly N<strong>at</strong>ional Opera Company). Lisa is an adjunct professor of voice <strong>at</strong> AmericanUniversity, and <strong>at</strong> Montgomery College, where she has directed over a dozen Summer Dinner The<strong>at</strong>re and main stageproductions. Upcoming Master ClassMusical The<strong>at</strong>er Song Prepar<strong>at</strong>ion IntensiveStudents (Grades 9-12) are invited to join ATMTC’s Artistic Director,Michael J. Bobbitt for a dynamic four-session intensive study of professional-leveltechniques for interpreting musical the<strong>at</strong>er songs. This master class is designedto arm the next gener<strong>at</strong>ion of musical the<strong>at</strong>er artists with appropri<strong>at</strong>e repertoireand proper execution in performances, rehearsals and auditions. Each student willreceive a custom-chosen song for study, individual song coaching, and the benefitof group observ<strong>at</strong>ion, learning and practice. Students will learn techniques to helpthem execute a musical the<strong>at</strong>er piece with a professional piano accompanist andreceive individual instruction from Mr. Bobbitt.
