Johann died on 26 April 1883 in Schlitz, Hessen,Germany, at 77 years of age.He married Elisabeth KNOBLAUCH circa 1825 in Germany. Elisabeth was born on 1 April 1807 inSchlitz, Hessen, Germany. Elisabeth died on 30 March 1846 in Schlitz, Hessen, Germany, at 38 years of age.Johann was a Master Mason.Johann METZENDORF <strong>and</strong> Elisabeth KNOBLAUCH had the following children:8 i. Leonard6 METZENDORF < was born in Schlitz, Hessen, Germany circa 1840. Leonard diedcirca 1900 in Schlitz, Hessen, Germany. He married Margarete WEISSBECK circa 1880 inSchlitz, Hessen, Germany. Margarete was born on 22 May 1843. She married HeinrichMETZENDORF CA 1865, in Schlitz, Hessen, Germany. Margarete died on 19 January 1919 at75 years of age.Leonard was a Master Mason.+ 9 ii. Heinrich METZENDORF was born on 15 April 1842.6. Johann Heinrich5 METZENDORF (Johannes4, Jürgen Heinrich3, Johann Heinrich2, WilhelmNicklas1) was born in Schlitz, Hessen, Germany on 21 July 1807. Heinrich died on 25 March 1874 inHeppenheim, Starkenburg, Hessen, Germany, at 66 years of age.1He married Sophie SCHADE circa 1832 in Schönberg, Hessen, Germany.2 Sophie was born on 22December 1809 in Schönberg, Hessen, Germany. Sophie died on 18 April 1881 in Heppenheim, Starkenburg,Hessen, Germany, at 71 years of age.3 According to his "W<strong>and</strong>erbuch", Heinrich Metzendorf began his travelsfrom Schlitz on 16 March 1829. He went by way of Friedberg to Frankfurt <strong>and</strong> worked there until 12 April1829. On the 13th of April he reported that he was in Darmstadt where he worked until 16 December 1830.He apparantly went back to Schlitz, perhaps because it was winter <strong>and</strong> there was no work.
