Covering an area <strong>of</strong> 559 km2, the major riversinclude Little <strong>Yarra</strong> River, Cockatoo Creek and Woori Yallock Creek (Figure 9).Major points include the following:• The upper reaches <strong>of</strong> the Little <strong>Yarra</strong> River are protected forest;however the majority <strong>of</strong> the river flows through rural landscapes. Little<strong>Yarra</strong> River intersects the <strong>Yarra</strong> River at <strong>Yarra</strong> Junction.• The Woori Yallock Creek catchment is mostly rural, flowing from theDandenongs to the <strong>Yarra</strong> River.• Only a few minor underground drains are owned by Melbourne Water inthe study area.
