ROUND 9 REPORTSUnder 13’sCongratulations to our teams! The boys played their hearts out against ToowoombaGrammar School. This brings us to the end of the season. I must mention how well behavedthe boys have been and honestly one can say that they were an outstanding ambassador forThe Southport School. The parents can be really proud of their sons.13A TGS 12 def TSS 10: The 13A’s season finished with a heart-breaking last minute loss toToowoomba. Notwithstanding the result the boys can take great pride from a tremendousteam effort. It was very gratifying for the coaches to see the determination and skilldisplayed by all players. Most if not all players had their best game of the year, and all boyscan look forward to under 14’s rugby with confidence. Well done to all players for theirdedication to training throughout the year and making the season an enjoyable one.Coach Tim Trezise13B TGS 27 def TSS 0: This week the 13B's put in a very good effort against TGS. The boysfinished on a high note showing improvement in tenacity at the breakdown and defensivestructure out wide. A large number of parents and old boys on the sideline helped to createan exciting atmosphere. The boys respond well to cheering from the sideline but wereunfortunately defeated by a very strong and well drilled TGS side on the day. Thesportsmanship and determination showed by the boys again this week is consistent with thebrand of rugby they have developed throughout the year.Coaches Callum Mcgilvray and Paul Mitchell13C TSS 43 def TGS 10: A brilliant effort by the team to cap off a fantastic season. A trulycaptivating performance by the boys. The flair and creativity carried over from last week,really played a big part in the positive attitude the boys had on the field. A game played withflowing running rugby in mind and in good spirits. The u13 team of the season produced thekind of rugby their loyal fans love to watch. Bradley Dicks having a great day with ball inhand and with the boot. Ben Driver impressed everyone with a massive 50m try that wasunfortunately disallowed, handing off multiple defenders and out sprinting to 'score' in thecorner. Lachlan Herins aggression helping dominate the forward battle when it came to rucktime.
