Figure No.5 - Trafficking routes through East Europe.c) Overland journeyThe journey undertaken completely overland is without doubt the most tiring,the longest and that which comprises major risk.The trajectory followed is various, but it seems possible to outline two witharrival in Morocco: the first is that departing from Nigeria, through Niger (and sometimes also oralternatively Mali, through Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso) and Algeria; the second, which instead passes more to the west, through Benin, Togo,Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali and then again Algeria to Morocco (with variationsof passage through Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Senegal).The journey through Africa, that can last several months (some witnesses talkabout journeys which last even six months), ends with the crossing of the Strait ofGibraltar and arrival in Spain from w<strong>here</strong> they proceed to Italy in car or by train.
