According to documentary evidence, on one occasion Markač ordered theinvestigation of a suspected arson attack on a civilian home in Podkokirna in Gračacmunicip<strong>al</strong>ity by members of the Zadar-Knin Speci<strong>al</strong> Police Unit. 662 The perp<strong>et</strong>rator wasidentified and received a ten per cent cut in his s<strong>al</strong>ary. 663 According to anotherdocument, Markač ordered the commander of the Lučko Anti-Terrorist Unit to deliver adecision of suspension from duty to a member of the unit pending the initiation ofdisciplinary measures. 664 A further document recorded Markač requesting that a Speci<strong>al</strong>Police commander investigate and, if necessary, discipline a member of the Speci<strong>al</strong>Police for “<strong>al</strong>legedly violating work discipline”. 665188.
