38752houses burning right off the road. 4064 According to Flynn, nearly h<strong>al</strong>f of the houses haddestroyed roofs and were badly damaged. 4065 There were few civilians, but manymilitary vehicles travelling on the road. 4066 Once, Flynn and his HRAT team got out ofthe car to look at a house burning near the road, when men in military fatiguesapproached them from a car and were, according to Flynn, extremely disturbed that theHRAT team would take a close look at the house. 4067 On 11 August 1995, HRATreported that it had observed many houses burning b<strong>et</strong>ween Knin and Rastević, inPolača municip<strong>al</strong>ity, to which Croatian authorities still denied access. 4068 On 15 August1995, Flynn travelled to Vrlika and observed that approximately one third of the homesin the villages on the way were destroyed. 4069 HRAT reported that on 1 September 1995HRAT observed one burning house near Strmica in Knin municip<strong>al</strong>ity. 40701097. On the morning of 6 August 1995, a Kenyan platoon commander travelled <strong>al</strong>ongthe road from Drniš to Knin and saw many HV troops, fires, and killed livestock. 40711098. Alun Roberts, Press and Information Officer for UN Sector South in Knin frommid-September 1993 until about mid-October 1995, 4072 testified that after OperationStorm, he drove <strong>al</strong>ong the Knin–Drniš road sever<strong>al</strong> times, and saw houses that wereeither on fire or had been gutted by fire, <strong>al</strong>ong with hardly any sign of inhabitants. 4073On an HRAT patrol on 10 August 1995, Roberts saw, on the right of the Knin–Drnišroad, in a sm<strong>al</strong>l haml<strong>et</strong> twelve kilom<strong>et</strong>res from Knin, a house that had just been s<strong>et</strong> onfire. He then saw, less than 20 m<strong>et</strong>res away, two soldiers appear from behind the house,cross the road and head back to two HV jeeps.
