38759morning. 4013 When they stopped to take photos of the house they saw a Volkswagentransporter parked outside the house and two men in civilian dress coming around theleft side of the house, one of those men being armed. 4014 Hayden explained that in manycases houses had been burned from the inside with nothing remaining but a collapsedroof and other structur<strong>al</strong> debris. 4015 Hayden had observed more than a few housespainted with signs saying “Hrvatska Kuća”, meaning “Croatian house”, and “Ne dirajHrvatska Kuća”, meaning “don’t touch, Croatian house”, as well as houses withCroatian flags on windows or doors. 4016 These houses had been spared damage. 4017According to Hayden, Serb houses were marked for burning through a rough outline ofthe Serb “Ch<strong>et</strong>nik” hand-sign painted on the house or through other signs ormarkings. 4018 According to the IHF report, UN observers had informed the IHF missionthat they had seen an “arson team” dressed in camouflage operating an antitank gun andfiring tracer and incendiary rounds into homes in the Bulajusa area b<strong>et</strong>ween Drniš andKnin. 4019 According to the IHF report, the villages of Žagrović, in Knin municip<strong>al</strong>ity,and Vrbnik and Kosovo in Orlić municip<strong>al</strong>ity, were <strong>al</strong>l significantly damaged. 4020 TheIHF report <strong>al</strong>so recorded that the UN military observation team in Knin had stated that24 buildings were severely damaged and 23 were slightly damaged by burning. 40211086.
