Maria Teresa Mauro, a UN civil affairs officer and HRAT member in theformer Sector South based in Knin from March to December 1995, 3324 testified that on 5September 1995 was in the Golubić area, in Knin municip<strong>al</strong>ity, and witnessed Croatianmilitary looting, which was <strong>al</strong>so reported by the remaining residents. 3325 HRAT reportedthat on 5 September 1995 the approximately 40 persons still living in Golubić toldHRAT that they were very concerned for their security. 3326851. Davor Zdrilić, Ivo Oštrić, Željko Guzić, Mario P<strong>al</strong>eka, and Vlado Lukić(indicted by the military prosecutor, <strong>al</strong>l HV members whose command was based in theGolubić area) were convicted by the Municip<strong>al</strong> Court in Knin on 5 November 1998 foraggravated theft committed in Golubić, Knin municip<strong>al</strong>ity, on 8 September 1995. 3327The Municip<strong>al</strong> Court found that, for their person<strong>al</strong> gain, they had taken from houses inGolubić a large number of items (listed on pages 7-8 of P2610). 3328 They were awar<strong>et</strong>hat after the military operations, houses in the area had been abandoned by theirowners. They loaded the items onto a truck and drove towards Zadar. However, VPmembers stopped them at a check-point near Knin, and seized the items in exchange fora receipt on temporary seizure. 3329 The Municip<strong>al</strong> Court decided that the proceeds of thecrime be confiscated from the convicts. 3330852. At 9 a.m. on 25 September 1995, UNMO observed a burning house nearGolubić. 3331853. The Tri<strong>al</strong> Chamber has further received evidence about the military presence inGolubić in August 1995.
