38923stereo systems, shoes, bags and suitcases onto a blue truck with a Cyrillic sign. Havingobserved the demeanour of Vanderostyne during his testimony in Court, the TrialChamber finds his testimony to be credible. According to Zdravko Janić, the blue truck, pictured in D295 and P324, belonged to the MUP and was of a type used by the SpecialPolice. The Trial Chamber also finds that, on the same date, some of these uniformedpersons were cutting and connecting the electric wires of cars, including at least onecivilian car, in order to jumpstart them. In this regard, the Trial Chamber notes thatDavorin Pavlović identified the man wearing an olive-green uniform with a yellowribbon and insignia on his arm, pictured jump-starting a civilian car in the secondphotograph of P324, taken in Gračac on 8 August 1995, as a member of the SpecialPolice. Steenbergen testified that the man’s uniform was the same as that of otherpersons whom he identified as Special Police, and the Markač Defence confirmed thatSteenbergen correctly identified the Special Police uniform. 2959 The Trial Chamber alsonotes the evidence from Pavlović that the Special Police jumpstarted vehicles to removethem from the road, and used them in Sector South, sometimes with the names of theirunit written on the door. Pavlović also identified Delta as the name of a Special Policeunit. Photos 2-4 of P324, which show a red civilian vehicle with the words ‘Delta VK’written on the door, are consistent with this evidence. The Trial Chamber has foundabove that on 5 August 1995 a Special Police headquarters was set up in Gračac. Basedon all this evidence, the Trial Chamber finds that the uniformed men who were loadinggoods onto the blue truck and jumpstarting cars in Gračac on 8 August 1995 weremembers of the Special Police. 2960694. The Trial Chamber further finds, based in particular on the evidence ofVanderostyne, that on 8 August 1995 in the outskirts of Gračac, civilians and personswearing grey or grey-blue uniforms, referred to as policemen, were loading civiliantrucks and ‘police’ vehicles with items, including a television, and that some of thepersons referred to as policemen were carrying bags of shoes. Based on the descriptionof their uniforms, Morić’s description of the uniforms of the regular police, and on theaforementioned evidence that the civilian police had arrived in Gračac by 6 August1995, the Trial Chamber finds that the uniformed persons loading trucks together withcivilians and carrying bags of shoes were members of the civilian police.2959 Defendant Mladen Markač’s Final Trial Brief, 16 July 2010, p. 124.2960 See also P1242 (War path of Dubrava-Neretva Special Police unit), p. 7.392Case No.: IT-06-90-T 15 April 2011 `
