Then the witness heard a soldier say, “Take himthere and cut his b<strong>al</strong>ls off”, and they took the man away. 1910 A little later, someonec<strong>al</strong>led Dragana Večerina out of the basement to do some washing. The witness sawthrough the open door of the basement how one of the soldiers who had captured himthe day before, took Dragana into another house just a few m<strong>et</strong>res away. About 15 or 20minutes later, the witness saw Dragana come out of the house with messed-up hair andwearing different clothing. Dragana r<strong>et</strong>urned to the basement and the soldier who tookher away said, “Was I good for you”? 1911 Later that morning, the witness left thebasement and saw sever<strong>al</strong> soldiers dragging the man from Benkovac in the direction ofKistanje. After about 100 m<strong>et</strong>res, they turned off the road, and then the witness heardtwo or three machine gun bursts and saw the soldiers r<strong>et</strong>urning without the man fromBenkovac. 1912 The soldiers lined up the witness and 19 others against a w<strong>al</strong>l andinsulted them. They then told them to travel to the southern camp in Knin. One soldiersaid that they knew that there were 20 people and threatened to kill everyone if anywere missing upon arriv<strong>al</strong> in Knin. The same soldier told the witness and the others tosay upon arriv<strong>al</strong> in Knin that they were sent by the 4th Split batt<strong>al</strong>ion, 1st brigade. 1913The witness stated that on their way to Knin, at Bula’s bridge, they were stopped by asoldier wearing camouflage uniform, a black cowboy hat, and a black scarf, who hadcaught up with them in a sm<strong>al</strong>l red car. The soldier, who was carrying an automaticrifle, lined up everyone against a w<strong>al</strong>l and shouted som<strong>et</strong>hing like, “Who l<strong>et</strong> thesebastards go, they should <strong>al</strong>l be killed”. A group of civilian police was standing about 50m<strong>et</strong>res away and sever<strong>al</strong> of them came over and t<strong>al</strong>ked to the soldier, after which hedrove off. 1914 The civilian policemen, who were from Škabrnja, escorted the witness andthe others to a high school gym in Knin. The witness stayed in that gym for six weeksand stated that other people were arriving every day. The witness stated that young girlswere often taken out by Croatian soldiers and r<strong>et</strong>urned late in the evening. 1915 Som<strong>et</strong>ime in September 1995, the witness left the gym in a convoy of about 27 buses, takinghim to Vojvodina, Serbia.
