Aknowledge of the geological development of Brant County istherefore a necessary requirement for the application of ameaningful soil classification .Bedrock GeologyBedrock within Brant County is largely buried by glacialdrift and only outcrops in the deeply eroded Grand River valleynorth and south of the town of Paris . Elsewhere, the drift isperhaps 10 to 70 metres in thickness ; consequently, bedrockmaps (Figure 3) are largely produced from well records and aretherefore subject to continual revision .*Prepared by W.R .
