He still continues his warehouse business, but has branchedout also into o<strong>the</strong>r lines, being a dealer in fertilizer, a director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> CitizensBank <strong>of</strong> Cochran <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> owner <strong>of</strong> a valuable <strong>and</strong> well-cultivated farmingproperty. In <strong>the</strong> working out <strong>of</strong> his career, Judge Wynne has displayedintelligence, foresight <strong>and</strong> judgment. He has realized, that personal st<strong>and</strong>ingis an invaluable asset in business, <strong>and</strong> has <strong>the</strong>refore conducted Ms everytransaction in a manner that has left no doubt as to his strict integrity <strong>and</strong>probity. He has found time from his many business responsibilities to giveto his community, <strong>and</strong> as a friend <strong>of</strong> education is serving as treasurer <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Cochran Public School <strong>and</strong> as a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> board <strong>of</strong> school trustees.When <strong>the</strong> County <strong>of</strong> Bleckley was first organized, Mr. Wynne was chosenas a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> first board <strong>of</strong> county commissioners, <strong>and</strong> in 1913 waselected ordinary, a position which he holds at <strong>the</strong> present time, <strong>and</strong> in whichhe has established a record for faithful, dignified <strong>and</strong> conscientious servicethat may well serve as an example to <strong>the</strong> incumbents <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice who comeafter him. Fraternally, Judge Wynne is identified with <strong>the</strong> IndependentOrder <strong>of</strong> Odd Fellows <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Masons, <strong>and</strong> is secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> latter lodge,<strong>and</strong> a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mystic Shrine. With his family he belongs to <strong>the</strong>Baptist Church, <strong>and</strong> here his abilities <strong>and</strong> energies also find an outlet, hebeing at this time deacon <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> church <strong>and</strong> superintendent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> CochranBaptist Sunday School. Every good <strong>and</strong> progressive movement promoted atCochran finds in Judge Wynne a generous, active <strong>and</strong> capable supporter.Judge Wynne was married in 1885 to Miss Nancy M. Manning, daughter<strong>of</strong> Mrs. Lucy Manning, <strong>and</strong> to this union <strong>the</strong>re have been born <strong>the</strong> followingchildren: Linton, born in 1889, <strong>and</strong> now engaged in business at Cochran;Mrs. U. H. Patrick, born in 1887, a graduate <strong>of</strong> Cox College; Grady, bornin 1893, <strong>and</strong> now <strong>the</strong> incumbent <strong>of</strong> a clerical position at Atlanta; Milletus,born in 1895, who is attending a business college.BOBBIE WYNNE. Since 1912 <strong>the</strong> incumbent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> clerk <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Superior <strong>and</strong> County courts <strong>of</strong> Dodge County has been Robert Wynne, whois probably better known to his many friends <strong>and</strong> well-wishers as "Bob"Wynne. While he has been in public life for only three years, he alreadywields a distinct influence in civic <strong>and</strong> county matters, his capable discharge<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> duties, <strong>of</strong> his <strong>of</strong>fice having placed him favorably before <strong>the</strong> people as aman <strong>of</strong> strength <strong>of</strong> character, forceful personality <strong>and</strong> great capacity for ableservice.Mr. Wynne was born at Jacksonville, Telfair County, <strong>Georgia</strong>, January 31,1874, <strong>and</strong> is a son <strong>of</strong> J. D. <strong>and</strong> Emily (Alien) Wynne. His fa<strong>the</strong>r, a native<strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong>, resided in Pulaski County until <strong>the</strong> outbreak <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Civil war,when he enlisted in a <strong>Georgia</strong> volunteer infantry company, which was attachedto Coley's Brigade, <strong>and</strong> served as orderly <strong>of</strong> his company. After a brave<strong>and</strong> honorable service he returned to civil life, taking up his residence atJacksonville, where he spent <strong>the</strong> remaining years <strong>of</strong> his life. He was engagedboth in farming <strong>and</strong> merch<strong>and</strong>ising, having a large <strong>and</strong> valuable agriculturalproperty <strong>and</strong> developing a good business establishment, <strong>and</strong> was well <strong>and</strong>favorably known in his community, being elected treasurer <strong>of</strong> Telfair Countya number <strong>of</strong> years <strong>and</strong> serving also in o<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong>fices within <strong>the</strong> gift <strong>of</strong> hisfellow-townsmen. He died in 1907, at <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong> seventy-eight years. Mrs.Wynne was born in Cherokee County, <strong>Georgia</strong>, was <strong>the</strong>re reared <strong>and</strong> educated,<strong>and</strong> still survives her husb<strong>and</strong>, residing in Telfair County at <strong>the</strong> age <strong>of</strong>seventy-nine years. There were eleven children in <strong>the</strong> family, Robert being<strong>the</strong> tenth in order <strong>of</strong> birth.Robert Wynne, as a boy, attended <strong>the</strong> public schools <strong>of</strong> Cochran, <strong>Georgia</strong>,, but received only ordinary educational advantages <strong>and</strong> was still a youth whenhe started upon his career.
