Though in <strong>the</strong>war until <strong>the</strong> close <strong>of</strong> hostilities, Captain Little was continuously at <strong>the</strong> post<strong>of</strong> duty, but escaped serious injuries <strong>and</strong> returned to his home with a career<strong>of</strong> exceptional usefulness awaiting him. For many years he was a leader <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> Sparta bar, <strong>and</strong> by merit was elevated to <strong>the</strong> bench <strong>and</strong> for thirty-fiveyears served as judge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> County Court. For four years he was judge <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> City Court,Early in his career he married Mary E. Sasnett, who was born in 1839 inHancock County, <strong>Georgia</strong>. They celebrated <strong>the</strong>ir golden wedding anniversaryin 1909. Of <strong>the</strong>ir eleven children, seven reached maturity, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> followingare still living: J. Frank, a government <strong>of</strong>ficial living at Washington, District <strong>of</strong> Columbia; William J., a physician at Macon, <strong>Georgia</strong>; Mrs. R. P.McAroy, <strong>of</strong> Macon; <strong>and</strong> Y. A. Little, a physician attached to <strong>the</strong> staff <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>State Sanitarium.During his boyhood <strong>the</strong> late Henry H. Little attended school at Sparta,prepared for a collegiate career, <strong>and</strong> from 1887 to. 1891 was a student inEmory -College, where he completed <strong>the</strong> course with <strong>the</strong> degree A. B. Aninterval <strong>of</strong> school teaching followed, <strong>and</strong> he <strong>the</strong>n entered <strong>the</strong> law department<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong>, where he was graduated in 1899. From thatyear until his recent death he was an active member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sparta bar, <strong>and</strong>in that time built up a very large practice <strong>and</strong> was connected with some <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> most important litigation in <strong>the</strong> county.Public affairs always claimed his interests <strong>and</strong>- attention, <strong>and</strong> even as ayouth he was an eager <strong>and</strong> intelligent listener to <strong>the</strong> discussions <strong>of</strong> affairsbetween men <strong>of</strong> prominence in his fa<strong>the</strong>r's law <strong>of</strong>fice or in <strong>the</strong> family home.Thus he was practically cradled in <strong>the</strong> principles <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> democratic party.In 1902 he was elected a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> State Legislature, in which he servedtwo successive terms. In 1908 <strong>the</strong> people <strong>of</strong> Hancock County honored himby election as ordinary <strong>and</strong> he was re-elected in 1912. Death found himat his post administering <strong>the</strong> many delicate <strong>and</strong> important duties <strong>of</strong> his<strong>of</strong>fice with a rare fidelity <strong>and</strong> singular patience <strong>and</strong> impartiality.Judge Little is survived by Mrs. Littk <strong>and</strong> two daughters. April 30,1907, he married Miss Sarah J. Bowen. Mrs. Little is a daughter <strong>of</strong> Capt.J. F. Bowen, who was a gallant <strong>of</strong>ficer in <strong>the</strong> Confederate army. The twodaughters <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir marriage are: Margery Elizabeth, born September 9, 1909;<strong>and</strong> Sarah Frances,'born April 28, 1911. Judge Little was an active member<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Methodist Episcopal Church, in which Mrs. Little is a member. Hewas a Mason <strong>and</strong> Knight <strong>of</strong> Pythias, -belongs to <strong>the</strong> college fraternity ChiPhi, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong>, <strong>and</strong> was a man who not only made influential connections in pr<strong>of</strong>essional <strong>and</strong> business affairs, but also had<strong>the</strong> faculty <strong>of</strong> winning <strong>and</strong> retaining friendships among <strong>the</strong> best <strong>of</strong> hiscontemporaries.HENRY D. WEBB. One <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> most popular <strong>of</strong>ficials <strong>of</strong> Tift County is HenryD. Webb, who since March, 1908, has occupied <strong>the</strong> position <strong>of</strong> county clerk.Prior to that time he had been variously engaged, in farming, in merch<strong>and</strong>ising <strong>and</strong> as a clerk in <strong>the</strong> Tifton post<strong>of</strong>fice, <strong>and</strong> has established a reputationfor energy, industry <strong>and</strong> fidelity that stamped him as one qualified for publicservice. His subsequent record in <strong>the</strong> county clerk's <strong>of</strong>fice has demonstratedthat no mistake was made when he was placed in charge <strong>of</strong> its importantduties.Mr. Webb was born December 30, 1879, in that part <strong>of</strong> Berrien Countywhich is now included in Tift County, <strong>Georgia</strong>, <strong>and</strong> is a son <strong>of</strong> W. W. <strong>and</strong>Sarali Ca<strong>the</strong>rine (Sinclair) Webb, natives <strong>of</strong> this state. W. W. Webb wasborn in 1839 <strong>and</strong> grew up amid agricultural surroundings, <strong>and</strong> when he embarked upon his own career chose <strong>the</strong> pursuits <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> soil as an outlet for hisambitions <strong>and</strong> energies. On March 4, 1863, he enlisted at Vienna, <strong>Georgia</strong>,
