Mr. <strong>and</strong> Mrs. Davidson have two children: James,<strong>the</strong> bearer <strong>of</strong> his fa<strong>the</strong>r's <strong>and</strong> gr<strong>and</strong>fa<strong>the</strong>r's honorable name, was born in 1912;<strong>and</strong> Deercourt, who was born in 1914, both at Greensboro.Mr. Davidson is a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Greene County <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> StateBar associations <strong>and</strong> he belongs also to <strong>the</strong> Knights <strong>of</strong> Pythias. In his political views he has always been a democrat. He is a man <strong>of</strong> substantial character, sturdy <strong>and</strong> self reliant as becomes one who has mainly made his ownway in <strong>the</strong> world, generous <strong>and</strong> charitable when occasion calls for benevolence, <strong>and</strong> a shining example <strong>of</strong> that dependable class <strong>of</strong> citizens withoutwhich no community can prosper.MILES "W. Despite <strong>the</strong> large number <strong>of</strong> young men who choose <strong>the</strong>law as a career, this pr<strong>of</strong>ession is like o<strong>the</strong>r avenues <strong>of</strong> endeavor, in that <strong>the</strong>reis always room <strong>and</strong> opportunity for those well qualified by natural ability<strong>and</strong> education if accompanied by enterprise <strong>and</strong> sustained effort. In <strong>the</strong> lawno royal road leads to success, but, on <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r h<strong>and</strong>, perhaps no calling opensso many doors to advancement in additional lines. Among <strong>the</strong> prosperingyoung lawyers <strong>of</strong> Greene County, <strong>Georgia</strong>, is Miles W. Lewis, who occupies aprominent place on <strong>the</strong> Greensboro bar.Miles W. Lewis was born in Greene County, <strong>Georgia</strong>, September 10, 1881,<strong>and</strong> is a son <strong>of</strong> Edward T. <strong>and</strong> Harriet (Poulain) Lewis. Of <strong>the</strong>ir three children, Miles W. was <strong>the</strong> first born. The mo<strong>the</strong>r was born in Floyd County,Louisiana, but was educated <strong>and</strong> married in <strong>Georgia</strong> <strong>and</strong> still resides in thisstate. The fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>of</strong> Mr. Lewis was born at Oxford, <strong>Georgia</strong>, graduated intoarmy life when a schoolboy <strong>of</strong> sixteen years <strong>and</strong> served all through <strong>the</strong> latterpart <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> war between <strong>the</strong> states. After <strong>the</strong> war he returned to his studies<strong>and</strong> was graduated from Emory College, later became a lawyer <strong>of</strong> prominence<strong>and</strong> was elevated to <strong>the</strong> supreme bench. Judge Lewis died in Greene Countyin 1903.Miles W. Lewis attended <strong>the</strong> public schools <strong>of</strong> Greensboro through boyhood <strong>and</strong> at <strong>the</strong> early age <strong>of</strong> sixteen years was creditably graduated from <strong>the</strong>high school <strong>and</strong> subsequently became a student, in 1902, in <strong>the</strong> academic department <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong>. From early youth he had enjoyedadvantages <strong>of</strong> an educational nature under his fa<strong>the</strong>r <strong>and</strong> already had a fairknowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> principles <strong>of</strong> law when he entered <strong>the</strong> law department <strong>of</strong>Columbia University, where he was graduated in 1905. He entered into practice at Greensboro, making his home here with his widowed mo<strong>the</strong>r, <strong>and</strong> hassucceeded in building up an excellent practice.Mr. Lewis is affiliated with <strong>the</strong> democratic party <strong>and</strong> is recognized as anable organizer <strong>and</strong> sensible advisor. He retains his membership in <strong>the</strong> collegeGreek fraternities in which he was a welcome comrade during student days.His manner impresses a stranger very favorably <strong>and</strong> to his large circle <strong>of</strong>personal friends he is so cordial <strong>and</strong> sincere that <strong>the</strong>y are justified in <strong>the</strong>irconfidence <strong>and</strong> esteem.WALLACE FRASER MILLS. One <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> representative members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Liberty County legal fraternity, Wallace Fraser Mills has within <strong>the</strong> period <strong>of</strong>three short years won a substantial reputation through earnest, honest labor,<strong>and</strong> his st<strong>and</strong>ing at <strong>the</strong> bar is a merited tribute to ability <strong>of</strong> a superior order.It is all <strong>the</strong> more satisfying, in that it has been attained through his own
