On December 22,1910, he married Miss Ruby Minor, daughter <strong>of</strong> Elliott P. Minor, a leadingplanter <strong>of</strong> Conyers,' <strong>Georgia</strong>, where <strong>the</strong> marriage ceremony was performed.One child has been born to <strong>the</strong>m, Lucelia, on March 16, 1912. Mrs. Bordersis active in church <strong>and</strong> club work <strong>and</strong> she <strong>and</strong> her husb<strong>and</strong> are among <strong>the</strong>well known <strong>and</strong> popular residents <strong>of</strong> Thomson.GEORGE GUNBY JORDAN, who was born at Sparta, <strong>Georgia</strong>, June 19, 1846,for many years has been a leading promoter <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> railroad, financial <strong>and</strong>industrial interests <strong>of</strong> his state. As a youth he served in <strong>the</strong> Confederatearmy during <strong>the</strong> last two years <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> war, <strong>and</strong> for twenty years after heldvarious executive positions, gradually increasing in importance, with mercantile <strong>and</strong> manufacturing establishments, <strong>of</strong> Columbus, <strong>Georgia</strong>, <strong>and</strong> finallyas cashier <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Eagle & Phenix Savings Bank for a period <strong>of</strong> eleven years.In 1886 he was elected president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> Midl<strong>and</strong> Construction Company, <strong>and</strong> later became general manager <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> Midl<strong>and</strong> & GulfRailway <strong>and</strong> organizer <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Columbus Sou<strong>the</strong>rn Railroad. He has beenpresident <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Third National since 1888 <strong>and</strong> president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ColumbusSavings Bank since 1889. He is also president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Eagle & Phenix Mills<strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Jordan Company, <strong>and</strong> is a director in numerous corporations controlled both by home <strong>and</strong> outside capital. In 1882 he served as a member <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> staff <strong>of</strong> Governor Alex<strong>and</strong>er H. Stephens, <strong>and</strong> has held such o<strong>the</strong>r honorary<strong>and</strong> active positions as: Railroad commissioner <strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong>, 1894-1901; president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong> Immigration Association, 1904; member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Commission for Industrial Peace, by appointment <strong>of</strong> President Roosevelt, 1907; chairman <strong>of</strong> Western & Atlantic Commission, 1913, <strong>and</strong> member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> NationalCivic Federation <strong>and</strong> National Society for <strong>the</strong> Promotion <strong>of</strong> IndustrialEducation. 'REV. WILLIAM W. LANDRUM, D. D., a well known Baptist clergyman, <strong>and</strong>for a number <strong>of</strong> years pastor <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Broadway Church, Louisville, Kentucky,is a native <strong>of</strong> Maqon, <strong>Georgia</strong>, born January 18, 1853. He is a graduate <strong>of</strong>Mercer <strong>and</strong> Brown universities <strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sou<strong>the</strong>rn Baptist TheologicalSeminary, his degree <strong>of</strong> D. D. having been conferred by Washington <strong>and</strong>Lee. He has had charge <strong>of</strong> churches at Shreveport, Augusta (1876-82), Richmond, <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> First Baptist Church <strong>of</strong> Atlanta <strong>the</strong> last named before helocated at Louisville. He has been very prominent in <strong>the</strong> educational <strong>and</strong>missionary work <strong>of</strong> his church in <strong>the</strong> South, as well as in military matters.Doctor L<strong>and</strong>rum has serVed as captain <strong>and</strong> chaplain <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> First Regiment<strong>of</strong> Cavalry, <strong>Georgia</strong> National Guards, <strong>and</strong> as brigadier-general <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kentucky Division <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> United Boys' Brigades <strong>of</strong> America.GORDON LEE. The member <strong>of</strong> Congress from <strong>the</strong> Seventh <strong>Georgia</strong> District,Gordon Lee, is a resident <strong>of</strong> Chickamauga, where he is engaged in farming<strong>and</strong> manufacturing. He was born near Ringgold, that state, May 29, 1859,graduated from Emory College in 1880, <strong>and</strong> first entered public life in 1894,when he was elected to a term in <strong>the</strong> State House <strong>of</strong> Representatives.
