Returning to <strong>Georgia</strong> at <strong>the</strong>end <strong>of</strong> that time, he entered <strong>the</strong> Atlanta Law School, from which he was graduated with <strong>the</strong> degree <strong>of</strong> Bachelor <strong>of</strong> Laws, in 1911, <strong>and</strong>, was at once admittedto practice. Opening an <strong>of</strong>fice at Millen, <strong>the</strong> county seat <strong>of</strong> Jenkins County,he soon became recognized as a thorough, astute <strong>and</strong> learned attorney, <strong>and</strong>his connection with some important litigation brought him prominently before'<strong>the</strong> public as possessed <strong>of</strong> judicial timbre. In 1912 he was appointed to fillan unexpired term as ordinary <strong>of</strong> Jenkins County, <strong>and</strong> his services in thatcapacity were so satisfactory that at'<strong>the</strong> ensuing election he was elected to afull term in that <strong>of</strong>fice.Judge Rabb is a" member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Jenkins County Bar Association <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong><strong>Georgia</strong> State Bar Association, <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>s high in <strong>the</strong> esteem <strong>of</strong> his fellowpractitioners.His fraternal connection is with <strong>the</strong> Independent Order <strong>of</strong>Odd Fellows, while his political support is given unreservedly to <strong>the</strong> democratic party. He belongs to <strong>the</strong> Baptist Church, <strong>and</strong> has been generous in hissupport <strong>of</strong> its movements. As a citizen he has contributed freely <strong>of</strong> his time<strong>and</strong> abilities to public-spirited movements, <strong>and</strong> in every way has endeavoredto advance ihe best interests <strong>of</strong> his community.Judge Rabb was married December 1, 1909, in Jenkins County, to MissJessie Lanier, daughter <strong>of</strong> Thomas <strong>and</strong> Josephine Lanier, <strong>and</strong> on her mo<strong>the</strong>r'sside a lineal descendant <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> old <strong>and</strong> honored Lane family, which, like <strong>the</strong>Laniers, has produced many men <strong>of</strong> prominence. Two children have beenborn to Judge <strong>and</strong> Mrs. Rabb: Emmalane, born in 1911; <strong>and</strong> Frank Gordon,Jr., born in 1915. On coming to Milleji Judge Rabb built one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> finesthomes in <strong>the</strong> city. He is very fond <strong>of</strong> out-door life, particularly in connectionwith hunting <strong>and</strong> fishing, is considered one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> most accurate marksmen inthis part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> state, <strong>and</strong> is <strong>the</strong> owner <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> best bird dogs in JenkinsCounty.R. C. DODSON, M. D. Since August, 1911, Doctor Dodson has been assistant to Doctor Lane, <strong>the</strong> general superintendent <strong>and</strong> chief surgeon <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Atlantic Coast Line Railway Hospital at Wayeross.He was born in Baltimore County, Maryl<strong>and</strong>, October 22, 1887, a son<strong>of</strong> John R. <strong>and</strong> Elizabeth (Seling) Dodson, both <strong>of</strong> whom were born in <strong>the</strong>same locality. His fa<strong>the</strong>r, who is now fifty years <strong>of</strong> age, has spent all his activecareer as a farmer in Maryl<strong>and</strong>. Doctor Dodson was <strong>the</strong> only child <strong>of</strong> hisparents <strong>and</strong> attended <strong>the</strong> public schools in Baltimore County, also <strong>the</strong> LoyolaCollege ,x>f Baltimore, <strong>and</strong> was graduated M. D. in 1911 from <strong>the</strong> University<strong>of</strong> Maryl<strong>and</strong>. He had already served two years a^an interne in a Baltimorehospital, <strong>and</strong> after his graduation he came to Wayeross <strong>and</strong> took up his present duties.He is secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Ware County Medical Society, a member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> State<strong>and</strong> Eleventh District societies, <strong>and</strong> is a Fellow <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> American Medical Association. In politics he is independent, is junior warden in <strong>the</strong> local lodge <strong>of</strong>Masons <strong>and</strong> is also affiliated with <strong>the</strong> Royal Arch Chapter. His church is <strong>the</strong>.Episcopal.On December 27, 1911, in Baltimore County, Maryl<strong>and</strong>, he married MissFrances A. Lewis, daughter <strong>of</strong> Charles E. <strong>and</strong> Ca<strong>the</strong>rine Lewis. Mrs. Dodsonis secretary <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> board <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> King's Daughters.WILLIAM THOMAS GENTRY. He whose name initiates this paragraph is one<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> native sons <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fair Southl<strong>and</strong> who has given excellent account <strong>of</strong> himself <strong>and</strong> to <strong>the</strong> world, who is essentially <strong>and</strong> emphatically a man <strong>of</strong> thought <strong>and</strong>action, <strong>of</strong> large initiative <strong>and</strong> constructive genius, <strong>of</strong> high civic ideals <strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong>inviolable integrity <strong>of</strong> purpose. He has been one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> world's productiveworkers <strong>and</strong> that <strong>the</strong>re has been full appreciation <strong>of</strong> his ability is manifest in<strong>the</strong> fact that he is president <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Sou<strong>the</strong>rn Bell Telephone <strong>and</strong> Telegraph
