For Immediate Release March 2012PRESS RELEASESTEYR MOTORS presents its new generation of 6 cylinder enginesThe renown Austrian Diesel engine manufacturer STEYR MOTORS keeps track with its ownslogan “Innovation with lightness” and has successfully redesigned its 6-cylinder series duringthe last 18 month. After an intensive test period the production started in January 2012 and“MO” became “SE” – compared to the MO-series the new SE 6-cylinder series appeals not onlydue to its stylish appearance!The all new SE-series is based on thereinforced Monoblock-design which is morethan ever the key for a robust and durableoperation under highest load conditions. TheMonoblock received redesigned intakechannels and this together with the upgradedhigh-pressure multifuel Unit Injector results in asignificant improvement of the efficiency, insome models and load conditions up to 30 %.The overall packaging dimension have beenreduced which is a great benefit for sportivepleasure boats and light working boats.Another significant improvement has been done in the cooling system including a thermostatcontrolled oil cooler and a complete redesign of exhaust manifold and heat exchanger. All thisresulted in a significant reduction of oil consumption, a shorter warm-up period and theelimination of white smoke.On top STEYR MOTORS has invested much effort to give the engine a more powerful andelegant styling. The new SE-series meets all the current and near future exhaust emissionrequirements such as EPA Tier III, RCD, BSO 2, IMO Nox.
