DISCLOSURES <strong>OF</strong> PECUNIARY INTEREST AND THE GENERAL NATURETHERE<strong>OF</strong>.<strong>The</strong>re was none.II.AN<strong>NO</strong>UNCEMENTSa) Councillor Molloy spoke to the success <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Uxbridge</strong> Rotary Club’s Libraryfundraiser at the Zephyr Public Library on Saturday, May 11 th , 2013.b) Councillor Mikuse advised that she attended the Building Business Forum at theMusic Hall on May 7 th , 2013 and remarked on the amount <strong>of</strong> businesses in thiscommunity.Councillor Mikuse also advised that it was McHappy Day on Wednesday, May 8 th ,2013 and thanked staff for their participation.Councillor Mikuse thanked those members <strong>of</strong> Council who participated in the Pretour<strong>of</strong> the upcoming Horse Lovers Tour in <strong>Uxbridge</strong> and Scugog.Councillor Mikuse advised that the Museum is hosting a Quilt Show which runsfrom May 10 th to 12 th , 2013 and May 17 th to 20 th , 2013.


COUNCIL 2MAY 13 TH , 2013<strong>NO</strong>. 8c) Councillor Ballinger advised that he attended the Region <strong>of</strong> Durham’s launch <strong>of</strong> afleet <strong>of</strong> 28 new buses on Friday, May 10 th , 2013. Councillor Ballinger explainedthat the fully accessible buses will run along Highway 2.d) Councillor Mantle spoke to the success <strong>of</strong> the Third Annual Prayer Breakfast onWednesday, May 8 th , 2013 at Mill Run Golf and Country Club and thanked thosemembers <strong>of</strong> Council who attended.c) Councillor Mantle also spoke to the “Suicide Prevention Day” hosted by the<strong>Uxbridge</strong> Youth Centre on Saturday, May 11 th , 2013 at Elgin Park.d) Councillor Highet also remarked on the success <strong>of</strong> the Building Business Formand the number <strong>of</strong> successful local businesses.Councillor Highet advised that he also attended Suicide Prevention Day andcommented on how well it was presented.e) Deputy Mayor Northeast advised that she attended Suicide Prevention Dayadvising that it was a moving experience.Deputy Mayor Northeast also advised that a clean up <strong>of</strong> the north Goodwood Parkis being organized.Deputy Mayor Northeast advised that the <strong>Uxbridge</strong> Masons are preparing a largedisplay at the Museum grounds in 2013 and that they will be cross-promoting withthe Foster Memorial Committee on this project as Thomas Foster was a Mason.III.DELEGATIONSa) LEO GALLARD AND MARK GIVELAS re Event at Elgin Park BandshellLeo Gallard introduced himself and Mark Givelas and advised that they are bothlong time <strong>Uxbridge</strong> residents. Mr. Gallard explained that they have recognized alack <strong>of</strong> opportunity for local artists to showcase their talent in <strong>Uxbridge</strong>. With theassistance <strong>of</strong> a Powerpoint presentation, Messrs. Gallard and Givelas spoke totheir vision <strong>of</strong> hosting an <strong>Uxbridge</strong> Music and Arts Festival at the Bandshell inElgin Park. Mr. Gallard advised that this one day event would run from 11:30 a.m.to 12:30 a.m. showcasing a number <strong>of</strong> local artists. Mr. Gallard advised that allmonies raised from this event will be donated to Africycle. <strong>The</strong> cost <strong>of</strong> the event is$10.00 at the door or by donation <strong>of</strong> a bicycle.Mr. Givelas advised that this will be a licensed event and that a wrist band policywill be in effect and that alcohol will remain within a fenced in area. COUNCIL 3MAY 13 TH , 2013<strong>NO</strong>. 8b) FABIO FURLAN AND BROOK ACTON re Request for Fill Permit at Reach Streetand Coral Creek Drive PropertyFabio Furlan introduced himself as a builder/developer in <strong>Uxbridge</strong>. Mr. Furlanexplained that he wishes to begin development <strong>of</strong> Phase 5 <strong>of</strong> the Estates <strong>of</strong>Avonlea at the corner <strong>of</strong> Reach Street and Coral Creek Crescent. Mr. Furlanadvised that due to the topography <strong>of</strong> land, he requires approximately 10,000cubic metres <strong>of</strong> fill in order to meet grading requirements. Mr. Furlan explainedthat Brook Acton was able to facilitate his fill requirements and that he would like tobegin bringing in fill within the month.Mr. Acton spoke to fill monitoring and traffic concerns. Mr. Draper recognized the requirement for paid duty police<strong>of</strong>ficers at the event and inquired if he could use a security company rather thanpaid duty <strong>of</strong>ficers as stipulated in the <strong>Township</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Uxbridge</strong> Municipal AlcoholPolicy. Discussing atcouncil’s direction options for use <strong>of</strong> opening unopened road allowance –foxbridgeAdnan spoke to differences between licence agreement opposed to easementLicence agreement = will set out all terms and conditions – fees, indeminities etc. Willremain in Clerk’s <strong>of</strong>fice not registered on title – one set back on licence agreement.Won’t know <strong>of</strong> this agreement if searched on title. Public would not be made aware <strong>of</strong>it.Easement – would be registered on title – lays out terms <strong>of</strong> access. Can put inconditions and ideminty when negotiating.
