First, the TFR from the 2001-2002 ZDHS can be compared with estimatesobtained in earlier surveys or censuses. Second, fertility trends can also be investigated usingretrospective data from the birth histories collected from respondents in a single survey.Comparison with previous dataTable 4.3 and Figure 4.4 show estimates of age-specific fertility rates (ASFR) from a series ofsurveys and censuses conducted in Zambia since 1980.
