In the <strong>2001</strong>-<strong>2002</strong> Z<strong>DHS</strong>, respondents were asked whether they ever heard about infections thatcan be transmitted through sexual contact. If the reply was “yes,” the respondents were asked to spontaneouslymention what symptoms a woman <strong>and</strong> a man with a sexually transmitted disease might have.Data concerning knowledge of symptoms of STIs are shown in Tables 13.14.1 <strong>and</strong> 13.14.2.
