Larger proportions of men in Luapula, Southern <strong>and</strong> Northern feel that condoms decrease a man'ssexual pleasure compared with the rest of the provinces.13.7 ABSENCE FROM HOME AND USE OF ALCOHOLAbsence from home can sometimes lead both men <strong>and</strong> women to engage in sexual activities withpeople other than their usual sexual partners. In the Z<strong>DHS</strong>, men were asked about the number of any tripsthat involved sleeping away from home in 12 months prior to the survey. These activities put persons atrisk of contracting an STI if they engage in unprotected sexual activity with people other than their usualsexual partners.13.7.1 Absence from HomeTable 13.11 shows that 17 percent of men in <strong>Zambia</strong> slept away from home for a duration ofmore than one month in the past 12 months.
