Although Safeplan is more widely marketedin Lusaka <strong>and</strong> Copperbelt provinces, its use is also highin Northern, Central, <strong>and</strong> Eastern provinces, althoughthe number of pill users sampled is small in severalprovinces. Women in urban areas are more likely touse Safeplan (22 percent) than their counterparts in therural areas (12 percent). Overall, almost one in five pillusers is using Safeplan.5.8 KNOWLEDGE OF FERTILE PERIODA basic knowledge of reproductive physiologyis especially useful for the successful practice of coitusrelatedmethods such as withdrawal, condom <strong>and</strong>vaginal methods, <strong>and</strong> other methods collectively calledperiodic abstinence.
