HISTORY IN THE MAKING...<br />

<strong>Old</strong> <strong>Market</strong> was the first suburb <strong>to</strong> form outside the old city<br />

walls, when it provided the castle with a market place at<br />

the start of the twelfth century.<br />

Steeped in his<strong>to</strong>ry, <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Market</strong> is now a priority<br />

conservation area for Bris<strong>to</strong>l, offering residents a<br />

community feel, with plenty of vitality close <strong>to</strong> the city<br />

centre. Castle Green is the main reminder of the old<br />

castle, whilst <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Market</strong> and West Street have a host of<br />

old buildings and pubs that hark back <strong>to</strong> even medieval<br />
