I was very surprised to find 10% EA and a littlesurprised to find 4% SSAF and amazed that there was no NA at all. I was adopted by my paternalgrandparents and was always told that my mothers family was small and dark. I too am the"black sheep" among the blue eyes of my paternal family and was presumed to be NA in part. Iresemble the Bannock Shoshone people. Then I got these tests done and am fairly confused. I'dlike to know how far back the EA is as I also have an unknown 16474T in the HVR1 that doesn'tshow up in the Concordance. However I understand that this test "lumps" all Y and MtDNAtogether. On the paternal line the paper trail is quite thorough and goes back to the 1600's andeven further and indicates purely European. Specifically Ireland, Prussia, Germany, England andThe Netherlands. Much of the paternal family has been in America since the earliest days. Mynext step will be to have my son tested and just see what happens.Email address (To use delete '-Thursday-' and add @ sign in that position): Duffield12345-Thursday-MSN.COMGuest: CSDDate-Time: Monday, February 07, 2005 at 13:09:55 (CST)My Expected Results for IE,EA,NA,SSAF Population Groups: 80,?,?,?My Actual DNAPrint Results for IE,EA,NA,SSAF Population Groups: 90,10,0,0DNAPrint Test and/or Euro add-on Test Version Number: 2.5Date DNAPrint Test and/or Euro add-on Test Was Ordered: feb 2005Comments: mtDNA = Haplogroup H (half the people in the world!) I expected mostly, if not allEuropean. My mother's side is English, Irish, etc. nearly all the way back. Might be a nativeamerican 5-6 generations back but no one knows for sure. Since i am adopted, I do not knowmuch about my father's side of the family, except that he was probably pretty much like mymom's side. I was surprised to see the 10% east asian as opposed to native American. Now I readthat the 2 are almost impossible to distinguish. Why do they have a separate class for NativeAmerican then? I have also read other stories about people who claim that there is no way theycan have east asian. One story where 2 (proven) full brothers tested way different. One 7% EAand the other 12% NA, or something like that. Sounds like even the 2.5 test is not all that reliable.Has anyone there had the sub-clade test for Haplogroup H or the new EURO-DNA off thefile:///D|/KERCHNER.COM/dnaprintlog2005.htm (19 of 21)3/8/2010 8:12:17 PM
