IBU EVENT AND COMPETITION RULES 315.8 WORLD CUP SCORING SYSTEM15.8.1 GeneralA scoring system will be used to reflect the <strong>competition</strong> performanceof competitors, relay teams <strong>and</strong> NFs throughout each WC <strong>competition</strong>season. Those competitors who have attained the highest final scores ofthe season will be the winners.15.8.1.1 Types of ScoresThe following types of scores are used:a. World Cup total score;b. World Cup Individual score;c. World Cup Sprint score;d. World Cup Pursuit score;e. World Cup Mass Start score;f. World Cup Relay score;g. World Cup Mixed Relay score;h. Nations Cup score.15.8.2 Awarding PointsThere are two kinds of points awarded at WC <strong>and</strong> WCH <strong>competition</strong>s:World Cup points <strong>and</strong> Nations Cup points. They are awarded as follows:15.8.2.1 World Cup Discipline PointsAt each WC <strong>and</strong> WCH Individual, Sprint, Pursuit, Mass Start, Relay <strong>and</strong>Mixed Relay <strong>competition</strong>, points will be awarded for each discipline asfollows:1st place 60 points2nd place 54 points3rd place 48 points 4th place 43 points5th place 40 points 6th place 38 points7th place 36 points 8th place 34 points9th place 32 points10th place 31 points,further decreasing by one down to ... 40th place (1 point).15.8.2.2 Nations Cup PointsNation Cup points are awarded separately for men <strong>and</strong> women. At eachWC <strong>and</strong> WCH individual <strong>and</strong> sprint <strong>competition</strong>, the following points areawarded:IBU RULES 3-83
