IBU EVENT AND COMPETITION RULES 3WC if they attain at least one result in the Sprint or Individual that is max.12% behind the average time of the top three competitors.Wild-Card Renewal:The wild-cards of competitors who achieve a result within 15% behindthe average of the top-three competitors in the World Cup during thecurrent WC trimester will be renewed for the next trimester.At the end of each season, following the promotion/relegation of the NFWC quota (according to 15.6.2), eligible competitors will be given wildcardsfor the first trimester of the following season if available.Each athlete who starts in the WC (including wild-card athletes) willreceive Nations Cup points <strong>and</strong> WC points, <strong>and</strong> will be listed in all<strong>competition</strong> results <strong>and</strong> point rankings.15.6.2 Relegation <strong>and</strong> PromotionAt the end of the season, the following system of NF promotion <strong>and</strong>relegation between the WC <strong>and</strong> IBU Cup will be used:Nations ranked 1-27 in the WC Nations Cup ranking automaticallyremain in the WC for the following season. All other nations willautomatically be relegated to the IBU Cup as long as they are not one ofthe top three nations in the IBU Cup that are not already one of the top 27nations in the WC. The top three NFs in the IBU Cup Nations Cup score,not ranked in the top 27 of the WC Nations Cup score, will be granted aWorld Cup start quota for the coming season.15.6.3 Additional Start Rights at WC Final on the Basis of IBU Cup Total ScoreAt the World Cup Final, NFs are allowed to enter competitors in additionto the quota based on how many competitors they have ranked in the top10 of the IBU Cup total score final st<strong>and</strong>ings, up to a maximum of twoper NF. The NF is free to use these additional entries for any qualifiedcompetitor. The NF of the winner of the IBU Cup total score for men <strong>and</strong>women will also receive additional funding from the IBU for the winner’sparticipation at the World Cup Final.15.6.4 Pursuit CompetitionsThe top 60 competitors from the qualifying <strong>competition</strong> will be entitled tostart in the Pursuit <strong>competition</strong>.15.6.5 Mass Start CompetitionsThe Mass Start <strong>competition</strong> entries will consist of the top 25 competitorsIBU RULES 3-81
