IBU EVENT AND COMPETITION RULES 39.4.1.1 TiesIf there is an equal <strong>competition</strong> time, the tied competitors will be givenequal ranking <strong>and</strong> equal points in the results; however, there will be nonext placing in the results.9.4.2 Types of ResultsThere are three types of results: intermediate, provisional <strong>and</strong> final.9.4.2.1 Intermediate ResultsIntermediate results reflect the <strong>competition</strong> situation during the<strong>competition</strong> <strong>and</strong> are for information only. They will be displayed on thescore board, announced by the public announcer <strong>and</strong> will be availablethrough the electronic information system.9.4.2.2 Provisional ResultsProvisional results are the first official record of the <strong>competition</strong>produced by the OC after the last finish. Provisional results are alwayssubject to protest <strong>and</strong> must be published <strong>and</strong> posted at the finish area<strong>and</strong> <strong>competition</strong> office as soon as possible after the last competitorhas finished. The TD must sign <strong>and</strong> write the time of posting on theprovisional results list so that the end of the protest period is clear.9.4.2.3 Final ResultsThe final results are the incontestable final record of the <strong>competition</strong><strong>and</strong> must be published immediately after the deadline for protests haspassed, or as soon as the <strong>competition</strong> jury has made its decisions onprotests that have been submitted.9.4.3 Results BookletThe final results <strong>and</strong> other important information about all the<strong>competition</strong>s for all IBU <strong>event</strong>s must be made into a booklet. Threecomplete booklets of all <strong>competition</strong> documents must be sent to the IBUheadquarters. The booklets must contain:a. the <strong>event</strong> program;b. participant list - NFs, competitors, trainers;c. decisions of the <strong>competition</strong> jury <strong>and</strong> jury of appeal;d. all final results, with applicable points lists <strong>and</strong> title page.All results pages in the booklets must be on white paper only.9.4.4 Distr<strong>ibu</strong>tion of Booklets <strong>and</strong> ResultsAt all IBU <strong>event</strong>s, one copy of the results booklet must be distr<strong>ibu</strong>ted toIBU RULES 3-69
