Only those of the competitor’shits that are on the correct target will be scored.8.7.3.3 For all shooting bouts where shooting lanes are assigned by startnumber (first shooting bout in Mass Start <strong>and</strong> Relay), competitors mustshoot from their assigned lane unless they are pr<strong>event</strong>ed due to theerror of another competitor.8.7.4 Time Adjustments <strong>and</strong> ResponsibilityIn those cases where competitors lose time due to a target error that isnot their fault, or to a target malfunction, the <strong>competition</strong> jury will makean appropriate time adjustment.8.7.4.1 Own ErrorIf, however, competitors make an error such as cross-firing or selectinga target that has been used <strong>and</strong> not reset, they themselves will be heldresponsible <strong>and</strong> no time adjustment will be made.8.7.5 Scoring of ShootingA system of scoring the shooting must be put in place by the OC for allshooting in <strong>competition</strong>s. Each shot that is fired in a <strong>competition</strong> mustbe observed by three independent persons or methods. At OWG, WCH<strong>and</strong> WC <strong>competition</strong>s, the system must consist of the electronic targetscoring device <strong>and</strong> two separate observations by range officials.9. THE FINISH, COMPETITION TIME AND RESULTS9.1 THE FINISH9.1.1 Moment of FinishFinish is the moment when a competitor’s or a Relay team’s <strong>competition</strong>time ends. When electronic timing is used, the finish is when the beamof the electronic sensor at the finish line is broken by the competitor.When manual timing is used, the finish is when the competitor crossesthe finish line with one or both feet. In Relay <strong>competition</strong>s the timing isto be taken from the last member to finish.9.2 COMPETITION TIMEThe <strong>competition</strong> time is the period of time elapsed during the <strong>competition</strong>on which the placing of a competitor or relay team in the results ofIBU RULES 3-65
