IBU EVENT AND COMPETITION RULES 3<strong>and</strong> teams are to be issued with corresponding keys. If the entrancescannot be locked, the OC must provide security for the cabins. Parkingspace for teams must be provided within a reasonable distance of thecabins. A public address system loudspeaker should be placed near thecabins.3.7 COMPETITOR WAITING ROOMSRooms or separate containers must be provided near the waxing cabinsas waiting area for the competitors. This can be a part of the stadiumbuilding, a separate warming shelter or a tent.4. COMPETITION EQUIPMENT AND CLOTHING FOR EVENTS4.1 GENERAL RULESThe term “<strong>competition</strong> materials/equipment <strong>and</strong> clothing” includesall of the materials, equipment, <strong>competition</strong> gear <strong>and</strong> clothing that thecompetitor uses during an <strong>event</strong>, including advertising. The definitions<strong>and</strong> specifications of <strong>competition</strong> materials/equipment <strong>and</strong> clothing,<strong>and</strong> advertising, are stipulated in the IBU Materials Catalogue (Annex A)<strong>and</strong> the IBU Rules for Advertising.4.2 INSPECTIONS OF EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS AND CLOTHING4.2.1 Preliminary ControlCompetitors’ materials/equipment <strong>and</strong> clothing must be inspectedbefore the start <strong>and</strong> after the finish of a <strong>competition</strong>. Additionally, apreliminary materials/equipment <strong>and</strong> clothing check is to be providedwell in advance of a <strong>competition</strong> to ensure that no problems occur. Allregistered competitors must have their equipment controlled when theyfirst arrive for an IBU <strong>event</strong> series or after making any changes to theirmaterials/equipment or clothing. No equipment, materials or clothingmay be used at an IBU <strong>event</strong> unless they have been approved by the IBU.4.2.2 Pre-Start Materials/Equipment <strong>and</strong> Clothing InspectionCompetitors must report at the start materials/equipment <strong>and</strong> clothinginspection area not later than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time ofstart to have their skis <strong>and</strong> rifle checked <strong>and</strong> marked, <strong>and</strong> their clothinginspected. Competitors who arrive later than 15 minutes before theirIBU RULES 3-43
