3IBU EVENT AND COMPETITION RULES3.4.4.3 Target PlacementThe targets must be set up in a level straight line, parallel to the frontedge of the shooting ramp. They must be level in all directions. Thetargets must be placed so that the target is in the middle of the widthof the lane. The targets must not deviate sideways more than 1 degreefrom the right angle plane of their shooting lanes. The target centermust be 80 to 100 cm higher than the surface of the shooting ramp.3.4.4.4 Target BackgroundThe background behind the targets must be white from the ground levelto 1m above the upper edge of the target.3.4.5 Numbering <strong>and</strong> MarkingsThe shooting lanes <strong>and</strong> the corresponding target numbers must eachhave the same number, easily visible, <strong>and</strong> beginning from the right withnumber 1. At all IBU <strong>event</strong>s the shooting lanes must be numbered on theleft <strong>and</strong> right side at the front edge of the shooting ramp. The numbersigns at the shooting ramp must be placed so that they do not obstructTV coverage of the shooting competitors. They must be 30 cm high <strong>and</strong>20-25 cm wide. The printed number must be located at the bottom ofthe sign <strong>and</strong> be 18-20 cm high with the lines of the numbers 2-3 cm inwidth. The signs must be mounted on a support post 1-2 cm thick <strong>and</strong>40 cm high – measured from the snow surface to the bottom of thenumber sign. The number must be placed not more than 30 cm from thefiring line in the direction of the targets. The size of the target numbersmust be 40 cm high with a line width of 4 cm, <strong>and</strong> they must be mountedon a board 45 x 45 cm immediately above the targets. Both the target<strong>and</strong> shooting lane number signs must be in alternating colors – black onyellow <strong>and</strong> yellow on black – starting at number 1 with black on yellow<strong>and</strong> matching the T-post lane markers.3.4.5.1 Entrance <strong>and</strong> Exit BoundariesAt the entrance <strong>and</strong> exit of the range, 10 m outward from the left <strong>and</strong>right h<strong>and</strong> shooting lanes, there must be a clear marking. Thesemarkings will indicate the outer edges of the information prohibitionzone at the range.3.4.6 Wind FlagsAt <strong>competition</strong>s <strong>and</strong> official training, wind flags must be installed at theside of every second shooting lane beginning at the right side of lane 1,3-40 IBU RULES
