3IBU EVENT AND COMPETITION RULES3.4.2 Specifications <strong>and</strong> Configurations3.4.2.1 Shooting DistanceThe distance between the front edge of the shooting ramp (firing-line)<strong>and</strong> the line of targets must be 50 m +/- 1 m.3.4.2.2 Prone <strong>and</strong> St<strong>and</strong>ingLooking in the shooting direction, the right half of the range will be forshooting in the prone position <strong>and</strong> the left half for shooting in the st<strong>and</strong>ingposition. The division must be clearly indicated to the competitors bysign boards. An exception to the right <strong>and</strong> left configuration is to be madeduring Pursuit, Mass Start <strong>and</strong> Relay <strong>competition</strong>s, when competitorsfire from all lanes in both prone <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ing positions.3.4.2.3 Entrance <strong>and</strong> ExitDuring both training <strong>and</strong> <strong>competition</strong>, competitors must enter the rangefrom the left <strong>and</strong> exit on the right side.3.4.2.4 LevelsThe surface of the shooting ramp <strong>and</strong> the surface on which the targetsare situated must be as near the same level as possible. The shootingramp <strong>and</strong> the surface on which the targets are placed must be at ahigher level than the ground between them by at least 30 cm, <strong>and</strong> moreif required by local snow conditions.3.4.2.5 Space ConfigurationsAt the rear of the range there must be a fenced off area of 10 to 12 mwidth (shooting ramp), measured back from the front edge of the firingline, <strong>and</strong> extending along the entire back of the range. The area is to bereserved for competitors, officials <strong>and</strong> members of the juries. However,if authorized by the RD/TD, other persons such as TV camera crews maybe allowed in this area. Directly behind that area there must be a secondfenced area of at least 2 m width reserved for three team staff membersper team. This area must be configured so that the team staff membershave good visibility of the targets <strong>and</strong> the shooting ramp area. Behindthe coaches area there must be an area 1.5 m wide, extending the widthof the range, reserved primarily for the media.3.4.3 The Shooting RampThe shooting ramp is the area at the rear of the range where thecompetitors lie or st<strong>and</strong> to fire.
