3IBU EVENT AND COMPETITION RULES3 <strong>and</strong> 4. This decision must be announced at least two hours prior tothe entry deadline for the respective <strong>competition</strong>.b. At the OWG <strong>and</strong> WCH, competitors must be entered in draw groups asdescribed in 1.6.3.1 above. The top-10 ranked competitors from thecurrent WC total score may be placed in any draw group. However, aNF may not place more than two competitors in any one of the fourdraw groups, including the current world champion.c. Under unusual weather conditions at the WCH, the <strong>competition</strong> jurymay alter the grouping system. This decision shall be announced twohours before the entries are due. The exception to be applied is asfollows:At the WCH there are five draw groups <strong>and</strong> each NF may enter amaximum of two competitors per draw group. The first two drawgroups are reserved for competitors ranked in the top 50 of thecurrent WC total score <strong>and</strong> an NF may enter up to a maximum of twoper draw group. NFs with competitors in the top 50 are free to enterthem in any draw group they choose. Draw group three is reservedfor athletes who are on the current World Cup total score list, butnot among the 50 best. However, these competitors may be enteredin draw groups 4 <strong>and</strong> 5 as the NF chooses, maximum two per drawgroup.Those competitors who have not scored World Cup points, <strong>and</strong> aretherefore not on the current World Cup total score list, may only beentered in draw groups 4 <strong>and</strong> 5, maximum two per draw group.The previous year’s World or Olympic Champion may be entered inany draw group respecting the NF’s limit of two per draw group.1.6.4.2 Draw for Group Starts in Sprint <strong>and</strong> Individual CompetitionsAt international <strong>competition</strong>s other than the OWG, WCH, Y/JWCH <strong>and</strong>WC <strong>competition</strong>s, competitors in Sprint <strong>and</strong> Individual <strong>competition</strong>s maystart individually or in groups. If the start is held in groups, the drawgroups will be divided into start groups. The number of competitors inthe start groups will depend on the conditions at the <strong>competition</strong> venue<strong>and</strong> on the total number of competitors. Otherwise the draw will be thesame as for single starts. For a group start, the numbers drawn willdetermine the competitors’ positions at the start.3-20 IBU RULES
