SV-D700 / SV-D1000 <strong>Installation</strong> and Configuration2. Connect the appropriate Icom A210 transmit to one of the <strong>SkyView</strong> serial RX pins oneach display.3. Configure the serial port: SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > SERIAL PORT SETUP > SERIALPORT x SETUP > SERIAL IN DEVICE > GARMIN / APOLLO SL40. This will automatically setthe SERIAL IN FUNCTION, SERIAL IN/OUT BAUD RATE, and SERIAL OUT DEVICE.4. Configure the serial port on the Icom A210 appropriately.<strong>Dynon</strong> ADAHRS/EMS/SYSTEM/NMEA Data OutputsTo output real-time data to an external serial device, such as a serial data logger, ELT, or otherdevice that accepts NMEA or <strong>Dynon</strong> formats:1. Wire a serial transmit line from one display to the receive line on the external serialdevice.2. Ensure there is a shared ground between the D700/D1000 and the external serialdevice.3. Configure the serial port on the display appropriately under SETUP MENU > SYSTEMSETUP > SERIAL PORT SETUP, selecting the desired output data format.TIS Format Traffic Output<strong>SkyView</strong> can be configured to output TIS format traffic information for external display on otheravionics that can receive traffic in TIS format. When this option is selected, only the actual TIStraffic from a SV-XPNDR-26X is included is this serial data stream. This stream does not includeADS-B, FLARM, Zaon, or other traffic sources that may be available to <strong>SkyView</strong>.USB Usage and AccessibilityIt is useful to have the USB socket on the display’s wire harness accessible afterinstallation for file uploads and downloads.The USB connector is used during the following operations:<strong>System</strong> firmware updatesConfiguration file uploads and downloadsDatabase updatesExternal Dim Control ConnectionUsers may control the backlight level on a <strong>SkyView</strong> display using a compatible external controlsignal. The external dim input on pin 25 on the display’s D37 is compatible with a 0 to 36 voltDC control signal.The external dim output on pin 26 is an open-collector PWM output. This output is currently notsupported.
