SV-D700 / SV-D1000 <strong>Installation</strong> and Configuration1. Follow the installation instructions in the Encoder Serial-to-Gray Code Converter<strong>Installation</strong> and Configuration Section.2. Configure the serial port on each display according to the instructions on page 15-13.Reference the Serial Port Configuration Section of this guide for serial port configurationinformation.Garmin SL30<strong>SkyView</strong> can display COM radio information from the SL30 on the <strong>SkyView</strong> top bar and sendCOM and NAV frequencies to the SL30. If you are using a Garmin SL30 NAV/COM radio with<strong>SkyView</strong>:1. Connect SL30 serial RX pin 4 (RxD1) to one of the <strong>SkyView</strong> serial TX pins on each display.2. Connect SL30 serial TX pin 5 (TxD1) to one of the <strong>SkyView</strong> serial RX pins on each display.3. Configure the serial port: SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > SERIAL PORT SETUP > SERIALPORT x SETUP > SERIAL IN DEVICE > GARMIN / APOLLO SL30. This will automatically setthe SERIAL IN/OUT BAUD RATE and SERIAL OUT DEVICE.4. If you wish the SL30 status to be displayed on the top bar: SETUP > SYSTEM SETUP >DISPLAYED COM > GARMIN / APOLLO SL30 (PORT x)5. Set SERIAL IN FUNCTION TO NAV 1, NAV 2, NAV 3, or NAV 4. If the SL30 is the only NAVdevice, select NAV 1.6. Configure the serial port on the SL30 appropriately. On the SL30, the Indicator HeadType should be set to NONE.Garmin SL40<strong>SkyView</strong> can display COM radio information from the SL40 on the <strong>SkyView</strong> top bar and sendCOM frequencies to the SL40. If you are using a Garmin SL40 COM as your only radio with<strong>SkyView</strong>:1. Connect SL40 serial RX pin 10 (RxD1) to one of the <strong>SkyView</strong> serial TX pins on eachdisplay.2. Connect SL40 serial TX pin 3 (TxD1) to one of the <strong>SkyView</strong> serial RX pins on each display.3.
