System PlanningThe Ethernet connection between SkyView displays is made in addition to the 9 pin SkyViewNetwork connections, and should be connected on a permanent basis like other SkyViewwiring. Dynon Avionics strongly recommends “Low Smoke Zero Halogen” Ethernet cables foruse in aircraft, but any Ethernet cable – whether it is a “crossover” or normal “straight” typeEthernet cable - will technically work. Low Smoke Zero Halogen Ethernet cables are availablefrom Dynon Avionics (SV-ETHERNET-3CC). Aircraft containing more than two SkyView displayswill need an Ethernet switch with enough ports to connect all SkyView displays together.Contact Dynon Avionics for Ethernet switch recommendations if your aircraft has more thantwo displays.There are indicator lights on the Ethernet port that are usually indicative of datatransfer on traditional Ethernet devices. In SkyView, they are used instead fordisplay troubleshooting purposes.
