SV-ADSB-470 <strong>Installation</strong>, Configuration, and Testing<strong>Installation</strong> InstructionsFigure 87 - SV-ADSB-470 Dimensions/Connections (front vieww)The SV-ADSB-470 is designed to be mounted in any convenient location in the cockpit, thecabin, or an avionics bay.The following installation procedure should be followed, remembering to allow adequate spacefor installation of cables and connectors.Select a position in the aircraft that is not too close to any high external heat source.(The SV-ADSB-470 is not a significant heat source itself and does not need to be keptaway from other devices for this reason).Avoid sharp bends and placing the cables too near to the aircraft control cables.Secure the SV-ADSB-470 to the aircraft using its four (4) mounting holes. The deviceshould be mounted to a flat surface. The mounting tabs on each side of the modulehave holes sized for #8-32 fasteners, but it is up to the installer to decide how themodule will be secured to the aircraft.Additional items you will require, but which are not in the SV-ADSB-470 package, include:Antenna and fixing hardware. Antenna selection suggestions are available in thefollowing section.Cables and female BNC connector. You need to supply and fabricate all required cables.Guidance on cable types is given below.Mounting hardware: To secure the SV-ADSB-470 to the aircraft.Electrical <strong>Installation</strong>Because the SV-ADSB-470 can be mounted in a variety of locations, the harness lengthrequirements will vary from airplane to airplane. Therefore, <strong>Dynon</strong> <strong>Avionics</strong> does not supplypre-manufactured harnesses for the SV-ADSB-470. Instead, your SV-ADSB-470 shipped with therequired D9 connector and pins to generate a suitable harness. Refer to the sections below fordetailed wiring information.If you do not own a D-sub machined-pin crimping tool, they can be obtained for under $50 frommany retailers.
