14. SV-ADSB-470 Installation, Configuration, and TestingSkyView can receive traffic and weather via the SV-ADSB-470 UAT Band Traffic and WeatherReceiver. The SV-ADSB-470 is a remote mounted module that connects to SkyView via a serialport on your SkyView display(s). It also requires the installation of a dedicated antenna for ADS-B signal reception.A map license is required to display ADS-B traffic and weather data received fromthe SV-ADSB-470. A trial map license for the initial 30 flight hours is included withevery SkyView display. After the 30 flight hour trial expires, installation of the SV-MAP-270 Navigation Mapping Software License is required to display ADS-B trafficand weather data.Read and understand the System Planning Chapter before installing the SV-ADSB-470.The SV-ADSB-470 receives traffic and weather via the 978 MHz UAT ADS-Bfrequencies, which are only utilized in the US. Therefore, traffic and weather areonly available in the US. Dynon Avionics does not recommend the use of the SV-ADSB-470 outside the US.Although weather and TFR information (FIS-B services) available any time the SV-ADSB-470 is in an ADS-B ground station coverage area, ADS-B FIS-B traffic is onlyavailable if an SV-XPNDR-26X or a Garmin GTX 330 ES (see note below) is installedand is providing ADS-B out position reports into the ADS-B system.Garmin GTX 330ES – To enable ADS-B traffic with a Garmin GTX 330ES, both theserial port transmit and serial port receive between SkyView and the GTX 330ESmust be connected and configured. In addition, for SkyView v6.0 only, perform the following procedure to set the GTX330ES Hex Code into SkyView:1. SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > SERIAL PORT SETUP > SERIAL PORT x SETUP(choose an unused serial port) > DYNON 261 TRANSPONDER > ACCEPT (button)2. SETUP MENU > TRANSPONDER SETUP > AIRCRAFT HEX CODE > (enter the hexcode assigned to your aircraft) > ACCEPT (button)3. SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > SERIAL PORT SETUP > SERIAL PORT x SETUP(choose the serial port with the DYNON 261 TRANSPONDER) > NONE > ACCEPT(button)Figure 85 has a high-level overview of a suggested SV-XPNDR-26X installation, configuration, and testing procedures:SkyView System Installation Guide - Revision O 14-1
