SV-EMS-220/221 Installation and ConfigurationFloScan 201B sensor only: make note of the numbers on the tag (pulses / gallon)attached to the fuel flow sensor.Dynon Avionics supplies theElectronics International FT-60(Dynon P/N 100403-003) fuel flowtransducer. Dynon no longersupplies the FloScan 201B, butSkyView is compatible with thissensor. The SV-EMS-220/221 supportsdifferential fuel flow sensorinstallations in Rotax 912 and 914installations as illustrated in Figure38.Table 34 revisits which SV-EMS-220/221 pins are compatible withfuel flow sources.General Placement RecommendationsPin13 or 16or 17Fuel FlowSensorWireColorDynonHarnessWire ColorFunctionBlack Black Ground14Yellow orFuel Flow Input 1YellowWhite(From fuel tank)15 Red Red +12 volt AuxiliaryFuel Flow Input 219for optional 2 ndYellow orWhite/Black transducerWhite(Return to fueltank)Table 34–SV-EMS-220/221 Fuel Flow Connections Do not install the Fuel Flow Transducer, hoses and fittings near exhaust system orturbocharger. Excessive heat can damage fuel system components. Do not install 90 degree fittings (elbows) on the input or output of the Fuel FlowTransducer. Doing so will cause turbulence in the fuel flow which causes inaccurate fuelflow data. Install the Fuel Flow Transducer with the three wires pointed UP. Install a fuel filter UPSTREAM of the fuel flow sensor to screen out debris. For best measuring performance, the fuel should travel uphill by one to two inches (25-50 mm) after leaving the fuel flow sender. Placement of the fuel flow sender relative to other items in the fuel system like fuelpumps is left to the builder. It is common to place the sender downstream of anyauxiliary electric boost pumps but upstream of the engine driven fuel pump.Due to vibration issues, never connect the sensor directly to the engine.Do not use Teflon tape when screwing in any of the fittings.SkyView System Installation Guide - Revision O 7-41
