Land was originally a pastoral reserve.The Water Park Feasibility study may identify suitable landfor a larger recreation precinct and aquatic centre.Near Rubyanna, River over East which is part of thegrowth corridor is suitable land identified as sugar canefarms that flooded in 2010. Would suit sporting fields onlow lying land and club houses on higher land.Bargara High School future land site also potential site asEducation Qld may not need all.BRC and State Gov don’t own suitable sized land between<strong>Bundaberg</strong> and Coast.Parklands parcel of land not considered suitable due tolocation, trees, level which retains flood water

Need to identify asignificant parcel over North.Locating the Aquatic Centre and Sport and Recreation landtogether would allow for growth of sporting precinct andlink Coastal and broader community. Kalkie – Ashfield areaappears a good prospect with east <strong>Bundaberg</strong> beingundulating and a structured plan under development.Query on provision for dormitory type accommodation -Evan advised no, but minimal council conditions on thesefacilities when added to existing sporting/recreationalreserve/facility.Evan Fritz to be invited to future meetings when requiredfor feedback and discussions, planning schemepreparation and for future ideas.Water Park Feasibility StudyRoss Planning awarded contract to undertake feasibilitystudy for aquatic centre. Required to identify six sites andprovide full details of two of these sites including landzoning, life of facility costs etc. First meeting to be heldnext week followed by Community Consultation. Trying toattract funding approval for LGA rather than all groupsbeing able to apply for fundingLes Killer update• <strong>Bundaberg</strong> Pro Tour 23-31 March 2013 <strong>Council</strong> secured• 4 ITF & one U16 event will not be held in Qld and hasgone to Victoria’s new tennis complex• Free tennis coaching once a week with ESLparticipants, one has advanced to fixtures3.
